Looks kind of fun. The two songs I'd love to have seen, Sgt Pepper & Baba O'Riley (note the spelling whoever in the BJ team typed that set list) were two sung by Bobby, so I'd have disappointed not to have seen Jon sing those.

Hard to say if I'd prefer a standard BJ set without experiencing this one. I quite like bands going out of the comfort zone of singing their own songs and putting their own spin on other people's tunes.

I don't think so mate but understand why you've asked the question. If there is one thing this board is good for, it's calling a crock of shit a crock of shit.

And that setlist is a crock of shit.

If he wanted to do a show like that? He does shows like that a lot, it's pretty much a carbon copy of a JBJ solo show. That's the problem. If Jon really wants to do something wild and wacky at a band show play the whole thing acoustic, do a full album, do a bunch of obscure cuts like they did at Mohegan in 2011. But to copy and paste a solo show setlist onto a full band gig is just lame.

This! Exactly this.
Would just want to randomly add that Jon is a big deluded twat. How on Earth he could think that is a good idea is beyond my imagination. People beg for years they play Slippery in full, they play Jersey in full...and then he plays 64848658732937382. God damn it, sometimes I wish Tico kicked him straight between his legs as hard as he can.

What a baffling decision by Jon. As far as I can see these are just normal Bon Jovi shows so quite why he has made them a solo show I don't know. Maybe this is the Bon Jovi of the future if Richie doesn't come back?

I'd be raging if I was going to this show as a Bon Jovi gig as its missing plenty of staples and just isn't a band gig. I mean what if I had bought confetti? :p :(

I take it that's how its going with these 2 smaller venues, but unless it's advertised as such stick to a Bon Jovi show and have a couple of these covers as an added bonus.

I wouldn't mind seeing a JBJ solo show like this, but only if that's what I'm buying a ticket for.

Advertise this for what it is- with special guests KOS- and it would appeal to some of the 'die-hard' fanbase, but only because of prior knowledge and a rough idea of what to expect. Surprise everyone like they have done, those expecting a Bon Jovi show can rightly feel pretty miffed.
Then there is the 'casuals' that are often held up as reason/excuse when setlists come under fire- that show certainly wasn't for them. So has Jon misread what people are saying about mixing it up, and did he feel that show was "for the die-hards"?

Anyway, it goes ahead. Bobby gets to do vocals on some songs. Why isn't David doing some songs? If they're gonna do this kinda fun, mixed up show, why not really go out there and let everyone have a piece of the action?

Would Richie have sang a few if he was there? I wonder how long this has been planned for- if we go with the theory Richie's issues are related to how he felt about WAN and the bands direction, would news of this been the point he thought "Jon's jumped the shark here?"

I agree with you. Richie has to go back, and fix this shit.

This is exactly my gripe, everyone who said for Slane and HP he didnt pull anything super rare out as it would upset the casuals who wouldnt know them. Then he changes more than half the set because his mates turn up. Why does Bobby get to sing full songs? Give songs to the original band members to sing like they did a few years ago.
