Official September, 10, 2013, Foro Sol, Mexico City thread (Tico's Appendectomy)

So, in less than a month the Latin-American leg of the tour will start, so I think that it’s time for the official threads to pop out. All the predictions, disappointments, reviews and rants about this show go in this thread.

The last time Bon Jovi played México City was September 24, 2010. The setlist was an average The Circle Tour one with the debut of the newest single back then “What Do You Got?”. Though Richie messed up in several songs, the band seemed to be in a good mood and having a great time.

No notice if either Richie Sambora or Phil X will be playing the lead guitar this night.

No linegraph due to incomplete chart information.

Songs played per album:

I really hope the Mexicans get a better setlist this time, or a longer one and not just a warm up show.

I hope it too. I got disappointed after having no RYH, no HAND, and only 21 songs. Arguably the worst set of the tour.

If the battery of my cellphone doesn't die for then, I'll post the setlist as soon as the show ends.

That'd be cool! As I'm attending the very next show, I really want to know what they'll play there.

I'm sure the show you'll attend will rival the best European ones this tour, bar San Siro, perhaps. :)

Javier 08-18-2013 06:59 AM

I hope you guys get a great show with a great guitar player! Be it, Richie, Phil, or Steven Seagal!!! :D

Something like Cologne would by my dream come true, but I seriously doubt is going to happen.

At this point of life, I'd be happy with anyone but Bobby nor the Kings of Johnny's Creek.

By far, the best setlist of the tour. LIS/WITW hand to hand, LTOR... wow!!

Don't forget I'd Die For You and This Ain't A Love Song! Also, I love Last Man Standing. Killer set!

Everyday of my life has been leading me here tonight!

Seems like an alternative stage is going to be used in Mexico. According to chilean media, Sofia will be there (Santiago) and in Córdoba (nothing is said about La Plata, though).

I would really like to know why Sofia isn't coming. Seriously, they had a month off, they overpriced the tickets and still we cannot get it. Like, why?
Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited but not having the Buick tomorrow is a bit of a let down.

This will be the stage:

I honestly don't know why Sofia won't be there, I'm guessing it's too expensive or they need more time to get the stage from Mexico to Chile/Argentina.

Edit: Maybe it's the chairs, Sofia is too tall and maybe people in front row wouldn't be able to see anything.

I like this stage. Has a very These Days/Crush outdoor tour vibe to it.

I know it seems like you're missing out on something, but having seen shows with the Sofia stage, I would honestly prefer the stage you are getting. Yes, the Buick is cool, but its way too busy and distracting.

MrNickel 09-10-2013 01:21 AM

Whats with all the chairs ? Is there no standing area ?

LeaJovi 09-10-2013 01:25 AM

Nice chairs, be sure to bring the monocle and tux. God I hate chairs at gigs.

SuperBrad 09-10-2013 01:28 AM

Well , fingers crossed the set list will be different this leg .

Jayster 09-10-2013 02:01 AM

Phil X is on route to Mexico as I type, according to his twitter.

ezearis 09-10-2013 02:55 AM

I like this stage a lot more too, Sofia it's too tall and (as you say) distrating.

TwinFan 09-10-2013 05:18 AM

Since when was the Buick stage called Sofia?

It baffles me but if that actually happens to be the reason then I prefer the chairs. I don't mind paying for the most expensive ticket as long as I'm having an assigned seat, I hate showing up hours in advance in hopes of getting a decent view.

There's a standing area for whoever was asking before, is right behind those chairs. BTW the place will be packed, just a few tickets left to sale. Here's hoping for a killer show / setlist.

jon-flp 09-10-2013 05:30 AM

I'm sure that this will be the stage for the whole south america tour, like in the past.

Time 4 Fun confirmed that Sofia will be in Chile on their official Facebook page, so I doubt it. This might be a Mexico-only thing because of the chairs.

I wonder if they're going to switch up Water as the opening for the rest of the tour.

And I hope this won't be what the setlist looks like but I'm sure it will be.

LeaJovi 09-10-2013 09:45 PM

If that's your prediction for mexicans I hope you get even less songs.

ezearis 09-10-2013 10:05 PM

Anyone knows when does this gig start? :p

Ariana 09-10-2013 10:22 PM

The Opening act are expected to show up at 8.30 (Central Mex local time). They'll be playing for about an hour. BJ -hopefully- will be on stage approximately at 9.30 - 9.45.

luceknight 09-10-2013 10:27 PM

LOOL seats?
they're using seats in Mexico and South America?

...yeah, that will work

danfan 09-10-2013 10:28 PM

I personally wouldn't give a damn if they played on an empty stage with a bunch of flashlights hanging from the ceiling, just as long as they mixed up the damn sets and made each gig different and interesting. That, even more than the whole Richie ordeal, has been my biggest gripe with this tour. Worst set lists ever.

Thanks for the information, so I'll have to stay up late to see the setlist :p

Only in Mexico this time, last tour we got chairs in Buenos Aires but it got out of control and it turned up into a standing GA.

SuperBrad 09-10-2013 10:57 PM

Yeah , RS saga aside ..... The least they can do is overhaul the ****ing set .

DryCounty 09-10-2013 11:51 PM

In how many hours will the show start? Yes, timezones is a bitch. Never learns them. I only knows it will suck to live in Europe during the World Cup 2014 in Brazil .

That's not what I wish for Mexico. That's what I expect based on the band's current state.
