Should have These Two Hands made it on WAN?
It's been roughly 6 months since WAN has been released and by now the newness has worn off and I can better tell what are the true steps forward in the evolution of Bon Jovi.
Like The Circle, there are only 2 or 3 songs that are real steps forward... IMO of course. One of these songs, however is a bonus track. Upon the first few listens, I couldn't get over the fact that it was ripped from Coldplay, which I suspect is the reason it didn't make the album, but as soon as I got past the riff, the song really grew on me. It is one of the 2 or 3 songs I come back to. The lyrics are clever. The melody is solid. The guitar work is good. I think it fits in the best 90% on this album. Your thoughts? |
IMO these 2 hands and Into the Echo should have made standard release ahead of The Fighter and Amen
In regards to Deluxe In to the echo should replace Not Running. |
I love These Two Hands but I don't find it fits in the record. I hate Into the Echo (echo, echo....echo).

I think that anything from What Aboot Now should be tossed and maybe (Just Maybe) Jon could attempt to make something that sounds a little bit better than his morning shit. That's what I prefer.

I love both this song and "Into The Echo". I hardly find bonus tracks to be worthy of that status when it comes to Bon Jovi, though. And we know the Japanese market always gets all the best anyway... :)

I can't stand the chorus but I really like the verses. Lyrics are pretty lazy but the "I could kick your ass" line is gold.

No average bonus track can save a below average album or make it better. And there have been no songs on any of the last few albums that have been actual steps forward. Some songs on the tracklist jump out, but when a song like "That's What The Water Made Me" becomes a step forward you kind of know you're in trouble. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |
Wow interesting to see the diversity of opinions, four votes for each option.

There seems to lack the option "No, it doesn't work anywhere."
