Irony Alert: I remember something that Tico said

when Bon Jovi was on Inside The Actor's Studio. Lipton asked them what sounds they considered unpleasant to their ears, and he replied, "Sirens."

I also remember him saying that he will "probably be one of those guys who plays (drums) until he's 60 or 70 years old." Well, there's no need to celebrate his birthday next month -- he's already gotten his present!

Wrong. And do you have an irony deficiency?

Who exactly meant the opposite of what was said? Because that is the definition of irony.

Funny, innit?

That's closer to the definition of sarcasm. Irony is those cognitive gaps between what is, what appears to be, and what ought to be. It's ironic that Tico fell into a two-hour gap between talking about being sixty and nearly missing out on it -- while being serenaded by sirens, LOL!

Something too smart for your idiotic, stupid and deranged brain. Get over it, loser.

the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.

It can also mean:
(1) : an incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result.
(2) : an event or result marked by such incongruity.

Thus, irony can be rooted in either sarcasm or cognitive dissonance.

That's more like sarcasm. Irony is something else, like trying to save a drowning person by throwing him a floatation device and ending up knocking him unconcious and drowning him.

Saying something and meaning the opposite is sarcasm.
