Sunday 19th September 1993....20 Years ago today

I saw the most amazing gig I have ever seen....and Ive seen 100s of gigs.

Sunday 19th September 1993 MK Bowl.

The day started with the Manic St Preachers - whom I immediately fell in love with and went out and bought Generation Terrorists and Gold Against The Soul the next day.

Little Angels - Ive always loved these. I see them as the UK version of Bon Jovi. Juvenille offender is one of my favourite all time track and solos.

Billy Idol - Ok not amazing but it gave me the chance to see Steve Stevens on guitar. Amazing.

then...the one and only............BON JOVI

From opener I Beleive to closer Ill Be There For You it was (for me) their best ever live performance. Never seen such perfection, passion and energy.

My best gig ever.

My wife was at this one too, though she can barely remember it.

Would be another three years before I'd get to see them live.

They closed with 'With a Little Help from my Friends' though. You must have left early!

They played 2 shows that weekend and iirc I was at the Saturday gig where they finished off with that.

Well it was 20 years ago but im pretty sure that was the Sat show.
I didnt leave early - cos my old Fiesta broke down just as we got there.
No point in leaving early as we couldnt go anywhere.
Waited until about 1am then called the RAC to fix it.

Just noticed I'll Be There for You is listed twice on that set list.

Aloha !

Many, if not most setlists on setlist.fm for the Keep The Faith and I'll Sleep When I'm Dead tour are either made up or compiled from bootlegs. There's some guy on there who manually submitted a setlist for every show in 1993, despite there being no information for a good 50% of the shows of that tour. As far as I know With A Little Help wasn't played on either night.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

There's also a guy that added 3 Brazil dates in October, 2010 and like 6 gigs in 2012 with setlist that would never happen. Setlist.fm isn't that reliable anymore.

It was definitely played on the night I went as I remember thinking why do I want to hear this when there were BJ songs I'd prefer to hear. I also remember Richie singing the 2nd verse.

I must admit I am horribly jealous of those of you that got to see the band in the 90's at their peak. I watch videos from that time and they were just amazing. My first show wasn't until the Crush tour. If only I had a time machine....
