Entire song, people deserve it (?)

Is it me or Richie sounded like shit during the intro? And Jon sounds really flat and powerless during the song. I didn't remember the performance this way.

I was making a joke.

GabrielC said "Thorn in my Side. I miss it." as if he had a specific thorn in his side that he's missing.

Not so funny when you have to explain it.

I'm well aware of the actual song - should have been the Circle's lead single.

Lost Highway was played !! OMG !!

We were so happy during The Circle Tour. The vanilla sets from that tour were a masterpiece compared to most sets of the BWC tour ...

Agreed, however if I had the choice I think id take the set from LA from the other day over the set from San Antonio on the Circle Tour.

They've already done Diamond Ring once this tour without Richie.

LOL he's a rockstar. Sometimes people get a little too carried away with the Jon hate. And this is coming from ME.

Belzik 10-16-2013 06:14 PM

I went to the SA show, some quick notes.

Overall, I say it was a better show than what we got two years ago. The show in 2011 seemed like just another stop on the tour with the exception of Thorn In My Side. The Dallas show blew the SA show away that year.

Anyways, back to this show. It was weird seeing the band without Richie (my first time) and then I just wondered how Tico and David felt about the situation too. Even if the feud is with Jon, they are band mates as well and I wonder what there input is.

The show was very standard with the previous setlists and Jon did not talk much throughout the show...but he didn't seem in a bad mood, just not super excited like he usually is in Dallas.

Hearing Diamond Ring was a nice surprise but even more, was the huge reaction it received...more so that What About Now or Make a Memory. I know those are crap songs to compare to but for a song that is rarely played and wasn't even a single, that says something. Amen got a really good reaction too and I didn't mind it. SIBSN acoustic lacks everything that make the electric one so awesome. I could barely hear the lyrics and it just seemed rushed.

Although I have heard Sleep and Medicine over and over again, the combination of the two really gets the crowd going with the addition of the cover songs. After the reaction Diamond Ring got, I was hoping for These Days in the encore but I realized we are not in Europe so that wasn't going to happen.

Like I said, overall, a better show than 2011 however if a second encore of These Days and Love is the Only Rule was added...probably could have been on of the better US shows of the tour. I always liked the way Love is the Only Rule closes out the show, its a great way for the band to leave gracefully, plus Jon appears like he likes it....anyways...

It's just that smirk Jon's had for decades. :) Bobby looks more like a fan-boy ogling his idols than a member of the working band.

Can someone explain how a 5'9" man now looks as tall or taller than his 6' plus bandmates (Richie and David) in pictures, both promo and onstage? Did he have his legs lengthened, in addition to hair transplants and obvious facial & dental work? Remember he used to have a prominent mole under his right eye???

His little man complex started after the success of Crush it seems when he decided to become the CEO. Prior to that period, he seemed to have no problem being flanked by Richie and David and looking significantly shorter than them.

I've said the exact same thing several times. PRS's, Jaguars, Firebirds... he picks the guitars I'd pick.

Haha it's just perspective. He's not standing beside Jon and David.

Hair transplants? really? When did that happen? I don't recall any time period in which his hair was thinning to require such a procedure.

rolo_tomachi 10-17-2013 04:44 PM

diamond ring
I imagined, this song lost a lot of romanticism without Richie. David and Bobby do what they can, but not is enough.

Won't say I didn't miss Richie's vocals, but nice performance. Would take this song at one of my shows any day.

I had actually written a similar statement and then thought "Jon haters gonna hate regardless" so I didn't bother to post it. :D But I'm glad someone did. As for the hair plugs, why would Jon waste his money if he wasn't going to get them in front, where his hairline is receding big time?

I am not among Jon haters. Not at all. It always struck me as odd that post Crush he suddenly started appearing to be the same height as Richie and David in the band promo pictures and now even onstage pics. Do a quick google search and you will find out what I mean. From 1984 till These Days, Jon is noticably shorter than his taller bandmates. Starting from Bounce era, he suddenly gained 4-5 inches. Find a promo pic post Crush where he doesn't look the same height as Richie and David. It is a hard job I tell you.

Jon has undeniable, immense talent. But as we have seen, he is not immune to human weaknesses. His sense of self-importance, insincere and fake mannerisms have been very evident for the past 10 years.

Because he got them when it wasn't receding as much over there. Once you've been close in the pit it becomes obvious during rainy shows, and you start to see how he's trying to cover it up by pasting his hair over his bald spot. :D

It was very obvious during the Crush Tour too when he started wearing bandanas and hats onstage after his hair became a sweaty mess. I think one can see this in the Crush Tour DVD. In the Destination Anywhere video / movie, you can see his receded hairline during the beach scenes. Compare it with the Bounce or HAND era and you will see a miraculous difference.

Hair transplants are done in a way so that they appear to be natural. That is why the "receding" hairline is not touched up to make it look like an 18 years old kid's. So when Jon and Gene Simmons say that "it's all mine", technically speaking, they are not lying. Hair transplants use one's own hair.

Guess I was lumping you in with the "Jon is an evil dictator" gang. I think Tico is the only one he was ever truly taller than, (and now Bobby?) so he's probably doing the lifts in the shoes thing.
