October 16, 2013 - AA Arena, Dallas, TX
Bon Jovi played Dallas roughly 6 months ago, on Oct 11, 2013. Despite Richie's absence, it was a pretty incredible show. Last Man Standing made it's tour premiere and Jon performed well even if his vocals weren't top notch (see Always). Hindsight, despite the fact that there were no big rare fan favorites (These Days, Etc), and 4 minutes were used to abuse the fans with WFTWM, I doubt there are more than 3 or 4 better shows this tour.
1. That's what the water made me 2. You give love a bad name 3. Born to be my baby 4. Raise your hands 5. Runaway 6. Lost highway 7. Whole lot of leavin' 8. It's my life 9. Because we can 10. What about now 11. Work for the working man 12. We got it going on 13. Keep the faith 14. Make a memory 15. Bed of Roses 16. I'll be there for you 17. Last man standing 18. We weren't born to follow 19. Who says you can't home 20. Sleep When I'm Dead / Dancing In The Streets / Start Me Up 21. Bad Medicine / Hot Legs / Bad Medicine / Shout (teaser) Encore: 22. In these arms 23. Wanted dead or alive 24. Have a nice day 25. Livin' on a prayer 26. Saturday Night 27. Always 28. Old Time Rock n Roll This is my first Dallas show to miss since pre-Crush. It kills me not being there but I have paid to see one Richieless show this tour and given the fact that the set lists have been pretty horrible lately, I am sitting this one out. Dallas shows are always pretty great (if only in performance), so hopefully those going will get a great show. According to the site, the following set list was played: 1. Water 2. Bad Name 3. Raise Your Hands 4. Lost Highway 5. Whole Lot of Leaving 6. It's My Life 7. Because We Can 8. What About Now 9. We Got it Going On 10. Faith 11. Amen 12. Saturday Night (Acoustic) 13. Diamond Ring 14. Make a Memory 15. Born to be My Baby 16. Born to Follow 17. Who Says 18. Sleep w/ Jumping Jack Flash & Taking Care of Business & Start Me Up 19. Bad Medicine w/ Shout ____ 20. Runaway 21. Wanted 22. Have a Nice Day 23. Prayer 24. Blood on Blood I'm looking forward to hearing some reviews, but based upon the set, I'm confident I made the right decision saving my time, money and roughly 350 miles on the odometer. |
Possible live stream here:

Looks like BOB was the end. It's been a while since that one has popped up, I believe. Hopefully the rest of the set had at least a couple changes. We'll find out soon, I suppose.

When it comes to recent BJ concerts, I donīt remember having seen this kind of lack of enthusiasm on this board, ever. Things are not well in the BJ camp.
As a sidenote, I donīt understand why BTBMB and WWBTF are played back to back. The chorus melodies are so similar that even the casual concert goer has to notice the resemblance. Not that I wouldnīt personally love both songs. |
Well its because they are no good without Richie . They are broken and tired . Jon cant sing for shit anymore . Its boring . For the first tour ever im not a bit excited about my upcoming show because my band wont be coming . I stay on this forum cause im clutching at straws .

C'mon, don't forget people bitched about Jon's voice, the setlist, Bobby etc even when Richie was with them.
|
I think more than anything, it's Jon's lack of enthusiasm and uninspired setlist/show.
He use to be a world class front man and in my opinion, the best. Now, he doesn't work at it at all. He just counts on the fact that everyone knows the words to prayer and thinks that if he plays Lost Highway enough, people will will remember start to remember those words too. |

He has his little moments (mainly in Bad Medicine) where he is still energetic and stuff but a lot of it is so staged and fake that it's quite sad to see him like that. |

I never liked this "best frontman" nonsense, since I can't see it. Never did, and probably never will. The so called "best frontman" died pre 2000. Bruce is miles ahead of Jon, and specially by consistency. |

Jon was probably pissed off that Tico or Phil didn't start on time while he was out front holding the guitar in the air for Blood On Blood:

It looks like Phil forgot how to play the intro. Jon says "What" and shows Phil the first part of the song. |

Found this video on twitter/yt that obviously a PhilX fan made from this show, pretty good break down of him. Assuming since they shared it on a public forum would be ok to share here. I MISS Richie beyond belief but gotta give the man his ups for what to me, must be like crossing the ultimate picket line.

he's finished.
no energy and no vocals. David Coverdale is ten years older and puts in more effort! |
