Official October 22, 2013 - Green Bay, Wisconsin - Resch Center Concert Thread
Setlist here - http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/bon-jo...-33c774ad.html
This kick starts very soon. Don't think they've ever played Green Bay before, but here is 2011's Milwaukee setlist; Lost Highway We Weren't Born to Follow You Give Love a Bad Name Born to Be My Baby Superman Tonight It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine) (R.E.M. cover) It's My Life Runaway The More Things Change We Got It Goin' On Bad Medicine (with Hot Legs) Lay Your Hands on Me When We Were Beautiful Bed of Roses Can't Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley cover) I'll Be There for You Who Says You Can't Go Home I'll Sleep When I'm Dead Have a Nice Day Keep the Faith Encore: Whole Lot of Leavin' Wanted Dead or Alive Blood on Blood Livin' on a Prayer Encore 2: Someday I'll Be Saturday Night |
Milwaukee 2011 was a solid show with Phil. The crowd practically willed a second encore out of the band (so loud that JBJ covered his ears).

I love happy now ! Awesome ..... I also love radio , but not the lame live version with the chorus sung down an octive ..... Shame bout that . But nice change in set .
|
Happy Now and Radio... I wanted those two here in Argentina!

Happy Now is a favorite of mine from The Circle so I love seeing that song make an appearance.
|
Glad to see some mix up in the set, just wish it would include a song or 2 more from WAN.
|
Please give me at least one of those two tonight in Chicago!
|
You know the setlists are horrible when a shitty rendition of a great song (Radio) and a mediocre-at-best 2000's album track (Happy Now) make people go nuts.

Happy, Radio and Blood, woulda loved any of those at the 6 shows I hit this tour. I'm sure Jon is fine tuning as many as he can so when he hits Australia the band can play them all in the 27-30 song sets he'll deliver.

Radio should never be played like this. It sucks everything out of the song. |

Let's face it, the epic shows are very few and very far between lately, those forking out the $$$ for pit tickets have to somehow justify the expense. |

I'm aware that it's the live version it's always been, I was refering to any rendition of the song, be it 2004 or 2013. I think it should've never been played, it' so boring live. There are so many better choices from the box set.. While I would love to hear it in the original vocals and a faster tempo, there is NO WAY that could happen, not even an attempt. You know it would be a disaster. Dem vocals man, dem vocals.. |

But I'm not only talking about them. I'm talking about the casual concert goers. |

But there are songs that are played at just about every show that weren't even released as singles. We Got It Going On, Captain Crash and I Love This Town are perfect examples. Casuals don't know these songs but Jon keeps playing them. Lost Highway and Whole Lot of Leaving didn't even chart, so casuals probably don't know these songs either. There's five songs right there that he could exchange for songs die hards would rather hear. The "they've got to play to the casuals" excuse doesn't really fly when unknown songs like these have become staples. Jon could sell the hell out of something more rare just as well as he's sold the hell out of We Got It Going On, but he doesn't bother. |

I believe that Going on, Crash and Love this town are specially catered towards the casuals. They are easy to digest wave your hands songs. Jon knows what songs the diehards want, you can tell that by looking at the "good mood jon" gigs, where he plays the real stuff. I think that Bon Jovi has reached a setlist that caters almost entirely to casuals, because during Bounce tour or before, you had the hits for the casuals but in order to complete the entire setlist you had to have some great songs that we want to hear. Later on easy to sing "party" songs like the ones you mentioned came along and Jon can skip the other songs altogether (I'm talking about LYHOM, WITS, BOG, etc). On the other hand, I believe that Jon plays the lost highway crap because he likes it, and THAT I can respect. |
