No Born To Follow? No Crash? What in the world?
But hey, they still got "Who Says" so I'm sure it was an amazing show!

I'd be happy with a set like this! Great encore, and from Memory till Who Says is a perfect time to take a break and get some overpriced nachos and beer and a pee break! :)

Just grabbed the bootleg of this show from Dime. Jon sounded awesome on the first part of Always. He totally ****s up though after the solo.

Thanks for the heads up. Decent quality recording?

Esther 11-06-2013 08:43 PM

Excellent recording with good mics :). Not mine unfortunately - this is the first Philly show since 2000 that I have missed :(

Since 200?

You're a lot older than your thing says.

bjcrazycpa 11-07-2013 01:58 AM

I was at the show and I really enjoyed it. Jon seemed really feisty dropping a few "f" bombs. For Always, he actually grabbed his mic stand and walked with it around the circle so I knew he would struggle even more with the song as he was walking and singing for a lot of it. And I will say again, as much as I do miss Richie, I love Phil X. He's so animated and moves around the stage and is constantly interacting with Dave, Tico, Hugh and Bobby. Plus, with the head banging he just adds some much needed rock edge that I think the band has been missing for a while now.

That's what BJ needs, head banging.

thebigbossfan 11-07-2013 04:46 AM

I can't make it out what he says. What does he say please?

SantaFe 11-07-2013 02:25 PM

I think it's a simple 'Who cares?' :)

gabriele 11-07-2013 04:14 PM

always: the final is terrible.

Ouch ... That was terrible.

liljovi93 11-08-2013 01:03 AM

Best bit of that 'Always' performance was Jon spinning his mic in perfect timing for Phil X's solo!

The verses I didn't mind, quite enjoyed them and the drums were solid but Jons voice was in absolute bits. That was dreadful and I cringed a fair bit listening to it. He started off alright on the end verse too and then his voice shot completely.

Shame.

At least he did something a little cool and different by walking around the circle. You could tell he was in trouble when he was skipping words and just letting the crowd sing. And the outro: "shine" and "rhyme". Wow, ouch.

I'd give anything to know what JBJ thinks of his recent performances of Always.

Panda 11-08-2013 04:35 AM

Phil really did a great job on the second solo. There was feeling and emotion and it was fantastic. Honestly, I think I'd take Phil over Richie. At least Phil wants to be there.

I think he is talking to the crowd.
