I thought the same thing, but given that it was Richie's personal issues, it really wasn't Jon's publicist's place to say anything. He/she probably can't legally discuss something like a breech of contract no matter what the reasons.

This caused quite a stir for a hot minute here in Buffalo. Haven't heard Bon Jovi's name so discussed by local pundits in awhile, though most have written it off as highly unlikely. Count me among the skeptical. Also, if he intends to move the team to Toronto, as has also been rumored, he and the band would be wise to never to return to WNY. One theory however is that these rumors only sprung up as a result of the Bills playing their "home" game in Toronto this Sunday.
