Possible Richie Solo Tour: Australia Jan 2014
Just saw the brief interview with Richie on the TMZ website, http://www.tmz.com/videos/0_qlki6tnh/ , and apart from the question about Jon, Richie says that he is doing some dates in Australia in January 2014. Anyone think this will happen?
I hope so as I was disappointed that Australia was skipped on the Aftermath Tour. Any thoughts? |

It's interesting (or actually, maybe it's not) that he's doing this as soon as the Bon Jovi tour is over.

I wouldn't be booking any non-refundable hotels or flights that's for sure...
But seriously, I would be more than happy for Richie to get back on track with a decent solo tour with a decent mix of Aftermath/Stranger/Undivided Soul songs. |
january makes sense...Bon Jovi tour would be over so he wouldnt be taking another dump on the fans by touring solo during the band tour. Him doing a few shows still means he wont be away from Ava for several weeks at a time (if that is the real reason not to tour with Bon Jovi).
What will actually happen....Richie annouces some solo shows in Australia and maybe some asian shows...Jon sees this and exteneds the Bon jovi tour to throw a spanner in the mix |
Aloha !

People still seem to think that Richie can sell out small clubs outside of America, but this is just not the case. Bon Jovi aren't popular in Japan anymore, and considered how Bon Jovi can't seem to get a proper deal for the rest of Asia, I very much doubt Sambora being able to. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |

1 - Right venue 2 - Proper support 3 - Adequate pricing Have just seen Buckcherry play my favourite location in London. Completely sold out for weeks. Had to pay the touts double face value which is just insane as I usually go for less than face value even when gigs are sold out. Why did that happen? First of all, it's Buckcherry. I don't know ANYONE who knows them yet the place was crammed. The support band was HUGE. The club they played is such a popular place that people fill it out even if there is no one famous playing it. Actually, artists play there just for the sake of playing there (specifically here I mean KOKO in Camden for people from London. Last year RHCP and Lenny Kravitz played there. Nick Cave just played there like 2 weeks ago...just some examples). Secondly - the price of the ticket was ~£20. Richie's gig costed ~£50. Now he didn't play quite the same venue, didn't have any support band, and his production was way poorer. Yet the place sold out within a day. Play around with those three items and Richie can easily sell out any major city in the world - no question about it. He just has to work a little harder for it. And maybe be prepared to not make money, but to play so that people can see him. Whether he is willing to do that is a different question. Whether he could or not is in my mind undisputable. |
I guess he doesn't need to spend time with his daughter any more!
This guys losing all respect from me. |
Well, playing devil's advocate here, you can't compare him going on tour with the band with a small mini solo tour. It's not like he's going to be on the road for months and months and months.
It definitely makes sense that he was waiting for the band tour to end before he solo toured. Can you imagine the slaughter he would have gotten touring at the same time? |
