Just back :) It was a great show... No real surprised though. The first half up until Sleep was full of highs and lows... The highs obviously being Bad Name, It's My Life, Keep The Faith, We Got It Going On and Born to Be My Baby (which went surprisingly really well with the crowd... More so than one would expect... Though could be because it was after the lull of Memory).
From what I can remember... 1. That's What The Water Made Me 2. You Give Love A Bad Name 3. Raise Your Hands 4. Lost Highway 5. Whole Lot of Leaving 6. It's My Life 7. Because We Can 8. What About Now 9. We Got Got It Going On 10. Keep The Faith 11. Make a Memory 12. Captain Crash 13. Born to Be My Baby 14. We Weren't Born To Follow 15. Who Says You Can't Go Home 16. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead - Jumpin Jack Flash - Great Balls of Fire (Dave) - Run Run Rudolph 17. Bad Medicine - Shout 18. In These Arms 19. Runaway 20. Wanted Dead or Alive 21. Have A Nice Day 22. Livin' on Prayer The show went for two and a half hours. From Ill Sleep When I'm Dead onward, the band and crowd were alive non stop. It's just a shame that that level can't be kept through out the first half of the show. Because We Can builds towards the end but it's too flat at the start... It would work better if it wasn't followed by What About Now. The biggest lull in the set was Born to Follow and Memory. They really shouldn't do Because We Can/What About Now and Lost Highway/Whole Lot Of Leaving back to back. Was surprised Memory was the only ballad. No Always, I'll be there For You, Diamond Ring, Amen or Bed of Roses. As for Jon's vocals... He must've been I'll in Japan cos he was back to his usual self. Didn't sound bad at all (as far as Jon goes). He did pretty well tonight, mainly in the second half. And now the highlights... - Keep The Faith - do I need to say more? - I'll Sleep When I'm Dead Medley - amazing! Great Balls of Fir with Dave on vocals was crazy good! Really lifted the energy. Probably the best part of my night. Run Run Rudolph was a nice surprise. - Bad Medicine/Shout - bah! So much fun. I was 100% certain they weren't gonna do it. My mum even turned to me when Jon did the break in the song and was like "is it shout :D" and I replied with "nah, they don't do it as often as they use to"... Then when Jon busted out with "you know you make me wanna..." I started jumping around like a mad man haha. - Born to be my Baby - was surprised at how much the crowd enjoyed this one. A few people who were sitting down thanks to memory quickly jumped up and started waving about. - Runaway - was great as usual. The bunch of young blokes behind me went crazy for it, as well as In These Arms. I was hoping for Always but Jon was spent. I was actually scared he was gonna pass out after Bad Medicine/Sleep. He did good tonight. My only quarrels with the night... 1) the ups and downs of the first half of the set. 2) Jon being a word behind on several occasions at the start of a verse or chorus. It really put me off my singing haha. 3) no Always/Roses/I'll Be There For You. Overall a great show with a standard setlist. Can't wait for tomorrow night. |
Apparantly he is still sick. Has had the flu since before Japan.

Seriously…. WTF is wrong with Jon??
These set lists are CRAP! I have tickets to see the arena show in Sydney and the last show of the tour in Brisbane and I'm going to be disappointed if I get this kinda rubbish. The last show I saw was night 3 in Sydney back in 2010 and that was amazing! Why can't Jon realise that NO ONE wants to hear Make a Memory ever again! 4 songs from Lost Highway is a joke! Like he often says 'I've got more hits than a prize fighter…' why doesn't he f***in play them! Clearly his voice is shot and he only wants to sing the recent songs written in lower keys that they can tune down even lower in concert! Im usually a very loyal fan, particularly of Jon however if he doesn't lift his game to what we all know he can do I won't be keeping my faith! Rant over! Steve |
