The Bon Jovi Store
I posted this originally on Backstage, now I'm posting my same rant here.
The prices are absolutely outrageous and completely unwarranted. I wanted to buy a nice gift for a friend who is expecting a baby in February, but honestly, $30 for a bib? That is completely absurd and just plain disgusting if you ask me. It seems the prices at this store have really risen recently if you ask me. Now it's at the point where there is just nothing worth buying there. Everything is WAY overpriced. A baby bib should be worth $10, $15 at most. Something needs to be done about this. There's no way the store can stay this expensive. $85 for a hoodie? $80 for pajamas? $40 for a shirt that has a picture of a cassette on it? $55 for a long sleeve shirt? $40 for a hat? Just to name a few. It is really just sad to see this. This is usually the time of year I buy a lot from this site. Not this time. Shame. I hope something is done about these ridiculous, insane, gross prices. We need to organize a fan-wide boycott of this store until these prices are lowered. There's no way in Hell that anyone should ever need to pay $30 for a baby bib. |
I think the most sad thing about the prices is that the merchandise store hasn't had anything decent in over 5 years. They've got with cheaper designs, yet raised the price. I've already permanently boycotted the store.

£20 for a fucking bib. Jesus of Nazareth |
And it's not just the price of the items, did you check out the shipping costs? It's a freakin joke. My days of purchasing Bon Jovi merchandise have been over for a while now.

I've been very disappointed with the store offerings and also the merchandising of the BWC tour. The unofficial stuff that is available is much more interesting and creative. Sad.
JBJ sometimes asks/sponsors fan video clips of certain songs, he aught to have a contest for some graphic designs that could be featured in the store or on the tour (with credit but no $ being given to the winning designers--well, maybe free BJ concert tickets) :flasings: |
Jon should have realized that the team in charge of the band's merch and the BJ store (tee hee) really have a negative effect on the band's image. The merch sucks, is overpriced, the service is poor and Jon seems completely oblivious to it.....

The merchandise is ridiculously overpriced. They ought to have sense enough to know that if the stuff was cheaper, people would ultimately buy more in the long run. I remember I used to get almost every tour shirt they offered (like in 93 when they were $18 or so) and now I buy ONE. I haven't bought anything for BWC because I didn't make it to a show this tour. I would like a tour program, but the last time I checked they don't offer it in the store.

I went to 3 shows this tour (fewer than I usually attend) and I didn't buy one t-shirt. I didn't care for what I saw and they were ridiculously expensive. I haven't bought anything from the store in years for the same reason - nothing tempts me and it's all overpriced.

We really need to get this out there, beyond Dry County, and get a boycott of this store organized. As fans, it is in our hands to make sure that this changes.
Come on and get up off your knees. This is the power of WE. WE can make something happen. Why? Because we can. |
I buy up big when I attend a concert and I didn't bat an eye paying $100 for one of those long sleeved shirt things.
I haven't bought anything from the store in ages - its not the prices of the items, its the shipping costs that get me. They can be double what the item costs. A few years back I bought a calender for $10 (on sale) and it cost me double that to ship it to me. Paid $30 for it all up. Wanted to buy a t shirt and a mug, shipping costs were going to be $50 plus. I don't know how the hell they can justify that but it seems they make a fortune from sending stuff overseas. |
