Stephen King
Hello,
I couldn't help but notice the favourite books post on this board and read each reply and respond under an old identity. To be honest I didn't think of raising a topic such as this on a generally music associated board, but someone else has. What I aim to do is find out just how many Bon Jovi fans actually love the work of Stephen King - here's my little story: Recently I got into King. I read "Hearts In Atlantis" and I was hooked with each page, I just didn't want to put it down. Currently I'm reading "IT" and the same applies, except "IT" has such a depth it makes the story one you don't want to leave, you feel as if you know the characters personally because of the way King has taken them from childhood. The next book on my list is "Dreamcatcher", I've heard nothing but praise. After that, I intend to buy everyone of Stephen Kings books just like Bon Jovi's albums - the next one I want is "The Stand", anyone read it? My ambition is to be a writer of fiction but have a career to accompany it as so many writers fail miserably. I look forwad to hearing from all of you |
I'll work with you here, even though this is off topic. I have read the Stand (uncut, over 1100 pages), It, Everything's Eventual, and many others, and they are amazing. The Stand is a work of art, and is one of the best novels I've read. For a great read with a little of everything, a great plot, etc. read Dean Koontz's From The Corner Of His Eye. Trust me, you'll like it.
BACK TO MORE IMPORTANT THINGS: THE NEW SINGLE EVERYDAY ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D |
Hey, that's a very good topic!!
I love Bon Jovi, and I also love Stephen King! (I mean, not him as a person, but his work!)http://www.plaudersmilies.de/love/ladysman.gif I have read ca. 30 books of him, and I'm trying to read every book, of course!!! And I think I have many more SK books than I have BJ-CDs!!!http://www.plaudersmilies.de/party/ylsuper.gif My favourite is "IT". It's perfect!!!!!!! But I also like most of the other books I've read of him very much!!!!http://www.plaudersmilies.de/love/hearts.gif I also read "the Stand", it was really good, but I didn't like the end so much! |
I totally agree with all of you. The first book of Stephen King that I ever read was 'It'. I don't know how to explain how much I love it. In Kings books you never know what it's really about until you haven't read the last page and that's what I like. I could spend hours by reading his books. (just wish that I had the time to do that) The last book I read was 'Salem's Lot'. (Could it be that there's a connectin between 'Jerusalem's Lot' (the short story) and 'Salem's Lot' ?)
PS: Hi, Annie - sieht so aus, als hätten wir nochwas gemeinsam. |
Genau, AnnU, schaut so aus!!!
I think between the book "Salem's Lot" and the short story are connections!! I think it's the same place, where the story plays and in both stories are vampiers?? Am I right? But most of King's books are connected somehow!!! (dark tower) |
the stand is his best book ever, try pet simetery, misery, shining and different seasons, these are my favorites
|
It seems like I should read 'the stand', too.
Ya, it seems like there are also connections between other books. Just look at the names. Has anyone counted how many Mikes, Bills and Bens there are? |
Yes, AnnU, read the Stand!!!! Halt schon mal ein paar Taschentücher bereit! (besonders um Seite 800 herum, http://www.plaudersmilies.de/sad/cry.gif) Und nicht zu viel vom Ende erwarten!!!
Misery is my second favourite book!!! And I love the movie from it! Kathy Bates is a perfect Annie Wilkes!!!! http://www.plaudersmilies.de/smash.gif And some of the Bachmann-books, I think, are really good. (Running Man, Long walk!!) Oh, and of coures "the green mile"!!!!!! http://www.plaudersmilies.de/crying2.gif |
Ok, then I'll read it after I will have survived 'Hamlet'. http://www.plaudersmilies.de/smhair.gif (don't wanna read this)
Ich werd mich mal um 'ne Familienpackung Tempo kümmern. |
Oh......poor AnnU, do you have to read Hamlet!!!! for school??? Oh I hate reading schoolbooks!!!!
Ok, Tempo is gut!!!!! |
