What About Now - Richie's vocals

I just found these on Youtube - they're WAN tracks with Jon's vocals taken out so you can hear Richie's backing:

What About Now: I'm With You:

It bugs the hell out of me how computerized his vocals sound on I'm With You. I wish that song had more of a rougher edge to it.

If you play a song verbatim, the studio version should always sound better then the live by the law of music. If the live version sounds better than the studio, there is a problem.

Imo, that's the problem with WAN. I really feel that that album could be semi decent with a better production. These robotic vocals need to go.

Bon Jovi albums are the same as movies that rely on special effects to carry it. I'm not sure why they think Ebin and Shanks need to be the producers of choice.

Are there any more of these for the rest of the album? The only way I know how to do this is to have the 5.1 versions, i didn't realise those were around for this album

You can do get this by getting a vocal removing plugin or using an audio program. It's super easy to do. I miss 5.1 tracks for Jovi albums, I think the last one was Have a Nice Day.

Can that same program remove screaming women from live concerts? Aka Red Bank 90 / 91

No, I WISH it worked like that. It just takes out the center channel, typically the voice. Most times it just severely lowers it and brings out other things low in the mix.

The "remove everything but vocals" plugins usually just sum up the stereo channels, basically erasing everything but what's mixed in the middle. So they wouldn't work on for example The Beatles' albums where everything is in the middle (mono) or only left or right (the early stereo mixes).

But anyway, these are fun to listen to. And there are a LOT of these, here's just one channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcI...KnAkzaZI0qc0aQ
