Music, Or The Meaning Of The Lyrics?
 

heres a good question, im always thinkin of this when i read the posts. im curious as to which of u are into bon jovi for their great lyrics, or just to listen to music without having to think about it? or maybe ur in in for both, i am from time to time, but usually im in it just to stop thinkin and start rockin, so help me out here! cya round,

brijovi, rockin hard EVERYDAY!

With Bon Jovi i am into them because they can write catchy BIG arena rock songs that are fun and rocking. BUT also because they can write amazing lyrical, poetic songs with meanigful lyrics and heartfelt musical performances.

I see SWW --> NJ as the more party rock albums

and then

KTF (some of it) ---> These Days as the serious rock albums.

I love the lyrics and music of them all. But if I had to take 1 bon jovi album to a dessert island with me it woud be These Days.

I'm in it for the love of Rock N Roll.. Lol.. Actually, I'm in it for everything.

Everything. They know how to rock. They know how to be meaningful. They know how to be funny and foolish. They know how to be smart. They know how to entertain. They do it all. And they have all different kinds of records. It's their diversity that appeals to me so much.

The whole package. But mostly music :shock:

Both. The first impression of a song is the music of course since I'm not English native and I have either to read the lyrics or listen to the song a few times before I get the lyrics. But the lyrics are very important, too, it's a combination of both.

When i Listen to any song the music comes first. If i don't like the music I don't give the lyrics a second thought.

I can honestly say it's primarily the lyrics and vocals for me. I have such a wide array in musical tastes that I can listen to just about anything if it touches me emotionally or intellectually. I'm not into blues, rap, or r&b. I really love listening to Jon sing any style. If a band has lyrics I can't relate to, I won't buy their CDs no matter how good they sound. With Bon Jovi, it's the perfect combination--an incredible singer, great lyrics, and music that perfectly suits my taste as well.
