Bounce - Uncommercial

Hey everyone,
Something came to my attention when I was listening to a bit of BJ the other day. In the lead up to Bounce being released, a lot of ppl said "I hope its not a commercial album like crush".

Now Bounce has been released everyone is saying stuff like "Bounce is underperforming".

Well if you listen to the album Bounce, its great Rock!!! and also its far less commercial than Crush hence its reason for not doing well in the charts.

BJ have catered for exactly what the fans wanted....a rocking album, uncommercial, and with a few ballads in the mix.

So I say Bounce Rocks!!

Couldn't say it better myself.. :D

Yeah you're right, but the songs (mostof them) seem to be demos and b sides.

I love bounce, especially The distance and Undivided!
I agree with you, bounce is not a commercial album as Crush was, although it's still produced to sell... I think...

THe first three lines of Everyday rhyme. The chorus contains the words 'spread these wings and fly'. It is a blatant attempt at trying to be commercial, but falling on their arses by producing utter crap.

I like the way that they used the word 'on' to 'rhyme' with the same word 'on' in the chorus of Hook Me Up. That is genius.

I don't think they went for the commercial aspect with Bounce like they did with Crush but to be honest - I think I prefer Crush. Bounce may have been an attempt to go back to mainstream rock but if it is, its a pretty tame effort. The album (Undivided excluded) is a below par performance for a reputedly well above par and evidently capable (from their previous work at least!) band. It could have been great rock - instead its a little confused as to what its supposed to be, as are a lot of fans from the sounds of it. :?

i think its because richie cut down on the guitars :?

Personally, I agree with you choc! Even though Jon and Richie both claim that the intention of Bounce was for it to be a guitar record, it really didn't achieve what the fans were obviously expecting from a GUITAR album.
