Everyday, pop or rock?
Why do you think Everyday was nominated as a pop song for the grammy?
|
the ral question is: where does pop end and rock start?
|
I guess it's a bit of both. It has enough guitar and drums to be a rock track, but still appeals to the pop market.
I think it was strange it got nominated for a grammy for best pop, but I don't think the other artists nominated really fit in with pop either. |
Pop means first of all nothing but popular music. And BJ make popular music. So where's the problem?
So the vote must be both. It's popular music in the categorie Rock. |
To me, Bon Jovi has always been 100% rock. When I think of pop, I think of boy bands, :x and as Jon already said, Bon Jovi is a man band! Therefore, I believe that Everyday is rock and not pop. Those Grammy people don't know what they're doing.

Maybe a popular rock ?
|
Maybe, but I think pop music are that boy bands and people like britney spears and christina aguilera
|
To me BJ have always been rock and dont see it changing. Pop music to me is what others have said before the boy bands, girl bands and that kind or stuff. I find it hard to get the local radio station here to play anything by BJ because it is classed as rock.
|
There are some BJ songs that I could consider pop, but Everyday is not one of them. When I heard it for the first time, I was in the car going to work. I called my roommate on her cell to make sure she was listening and the first thing I said was, "Oh my God! Listen to how hard that guitar sound is!" Just that opening riff... Kind of took me by surprise, it was more rock than I expected it to be.
Pop started out meaning popular music, but it has evolved into it's own category. The likes of Britney Spears and NSync are pop. That type of music is what defines pop music now. They certainly can't be considered rock and Bon Jovi can't be lumped together with them musically speaking. |
HARD ROCK of course :D
