When Bounce came out I was thrilled and even today I listen that very often when everybody spit on the album, didnt like 3 or 4 songs but album as whole for me is great, even better than Crush.
Richie has issues, and is out for now,Phil does great job and for sure its not easy for him.
They cant do These Days,Keep the Faith, they are not that kind of band, most of the rock bands going that way, every rock band change the sound, production, they are not metal or hard rock band.

The thing is that there ARE albums that are well produced - even with Shanks - Lost Highway was really well done.

What I really struggle with accepting is that this house for sale is their best effort. It just can't be. The lyrics might be pretty good, but damn that production is a nightmare. They don't have to do keep the faith or new jersey again. We just want their best. Which we aren't getting.

I'm glad you like it but I just don't share your opinion. I don't care what others think. If I like a song, it's definitely not because someone else likes it so not sure what your point is.

Phil X is a nice guy. He seems very approachable and a guy you would share a beer with. But he is not Richie and his level of playing is nowhere near Richie's when he was in top form. It's not luck that one guy became a legend and the other is a hired gun.

You yourself say they can't do a bunch of stuff anymore. So that makes them worse. Why would any fan be happy with that? I regret not seeing them in their prime but I have no desire to see them in their current form. If that changes, I'll be the first in line for a show.

I guess they know better than we about production,it is their way of production from HAND. THINFS is at the moment, and when you have situation-no Richie, their best effort,Phil for the first time with them in studio,Shanks also as player much more involved.
Lets see the next project, next album what will be, with Phils input, maybe we will get some bigger picture about it.

The singer can't sing, main guitar player is a stand in, the new songs are forgetable pop rock and you can't see anything wrong?

I don't think you will ever get the point and I understand why you think people are too harsh, if that's your view of the band at this time.

well it is overreacting to the situation. He sings like 56 years old singer, main guitar player is great player and he will stay in the band, new songs are more or less type of rock music today, some good, some less good but listenable.
If they are in so bad shape why so many people go and see them, nobody is the fool to throw the money. And why to be harsh? Like they give the shit what you and others moaners think about them.Music is the business and always was,who plays for free or just for the music. They are in this state right now,for how long,we dont know. Would I want another Its my life,Everyday,Undivided,Hey god or HAND type of songs, yes but Devils,BAT,THINFS and some from WAN are pretty good as well.

Maybe the discussion of the current Bon Jovi work should be moved to a Bon Jovi thread? Might I suggest the one regarding new music or the upcoming tour?

I don't know any professional singer of any age that would have such difficulties singing even basic stuff (forget the high notes). I like my music more than just listenable. And live it's not even listenable anymore due to Jon's voice.

You already asked the second question and I answered it. You seem to have the attention span of a gold fish.

Becky, I believe you're the moderator here. Just move the posts where you feel is more suitable. People will always bitch about moderators. The sooner you accept this fact, the easier it will be. :) Just be objective and consistent.

If the amount of people seeing an act determines how good said act is then by your definition everything people go and see is therefore high quality. Thus all Schlager festivals in Germany are amazing, as are shows done by boybands, pop queens and the likes, right?

You very well know they aren't, but they serve a target audience. As does Bon Jovi. Many feel however they no longer belong to the audience Bon Jovi targets and are therefore disappointed in the direction Bon Jovi has taken the last 15 years. So yeah, they are in bad shape, but Bon Jovi's audience hasn't got a clue.

To go even further and just to give you a bit of an indication at how much your average Bon Jovi fan knows about music; Most people on Jovitalk think Jon hits every note at the specific show they're going to and will only realize it's shit once listening back on youTube. But yeah, bitch about people being an expert here, because that totally justifies all of your bitching about others. Just because the "experts" hear things you don't doesn't mean they're wrong. It just means you very much still belong to Bon Jovi's target audience.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
