Really enjoyed that Made In America / All That Really Matters performance. That's what I'd expect from a Richie Sambora concert. I'd be happy with him sitting down with his guitar and playing like this for 2 hours :)

A new video of Red Pants in Brisbane

Check the other vids this YTer posted, the sound is quite good.

That video goes to show how Richie can still create moments of magic with ease.

Why on earth won't he play his back catalogue?! Maybe he thinks people would rather hear Bon Jovi stuff or he's lost faith in it.

It's so frustrating :/

nikos greece 10-06-2016 11:55 AM

that was great, I loved made in America and who I am from that album, I started playing guitar listening to Richie s undiscovered soul

What happened?

Maybe negative criticism on Twitter about his recent performances?

I don't think so. I looked thru some of her previous tweets and it seemed that she was referring to other tweeters who couldn't handle it when somebody had an opinion different from theirs. Apparently, they were the ones who were calling people trolls and blocking them. I think she tweeted @TheRealSambora to bring attention to it, and he may have thought she was saying that he blocked her.

One of her later tweets said something like, "Just wondering how long somebody would let it go on" or something. Then there was another Tweet that said something like "ty, but me and Richie are good."

Sounded like petty in-fighting to me. But I rarely go on Twitter; so I couldn't say for sure.

The fact that there is still no official release date for this album sends a message to me that Richie isn't confident in the material.

I think the record company doesn't give a shit to be honest.

They may not have a record company.

B.J. Always 11-05-2016 01:22 AM

I read an article just lately where Richie said they had 70 songs written and had got them cut to 20 as they decide on songs for the album. But now I can't find that article again!

BD135 11-05-2016 02:22 AM

I wonder if the hold up is them not being able to get a major label deal. I don't recall him ever mentioning what company is going to put this out. He may think putting it out independently would make him look low rent.

If the music is good, I don't think anyone would care who put it out?

It's about distribution and promotion, not quality. His deal at Dangerbird fell through the second week Aftermath was out so that's probably factoring into where he goes next.

I not sure where the CDs are made, but Phil X & the Drills have to get people to ship them out themselves. I ordered my CDs from Phil's site and thought I would never get them because Phil was on Tour with Bon Jovi. I got to exchange emails with Phil and he said since he had been on Tour it was hard to find people to ship them out. I guess if he hadn't been on Tour he would have been helping to ship them out himself? Somehow I don't think Richie wants to go there?

Alphavictim 11-06-2016 02:08 PM

No way Richie's gonna get THAT DIY. He'd burn through his fans at the speed of light / Vinnie Vincent that way, too. I don't see him as the reliable and puctual type. Anybody remember that cover song contest?

No I don't remember the cover show contest. But I did say I didn't think Richie would want to go there. I don't see him as the DIY type either.

Now that Jon himself created his own label with a distribution deal with UMG/Island, Richie might take the plunge too. There's no way a major co. will ever sign him (RSO) up and indie labels won't do any better than Dangerbird did with Aftermath, so what's left?
In Little Stevie I trust ;) and the VZs believe in Richie, that's why I can't help but thinking that a solution will eventually be found out thanks to Stevie and his many connections in the music business. Fingers crossed.

I do. What do you mean? The winner got 2 guitars, CDs, pics, etc. as scheduled and was invited to the USA and met Richie.

Saw a comment by Javiar on another thread: " If things keep going like this, an artist could get a number 1 album in the near future with maybe 10,000 copies sold...."

That is very possible with sales the way they are - maybe that is what they are waiting for - bragging rights are bragging rights!

I don't think there is a label yet - he said he was "funding everything". Now did he mean to this point or will he keep going? Lots of "rumors" about that even a year ago. You can call it art all you want but it is business.

What do you mean, that he could be waiting for the market to deteriorate enough for him to get a number one album?

If any band/artitst gets number one with 10,000, that week Richie would be lucky to sell a thousand. His situation would move accordingly with everybody else's.

ticos_stick 11-17-2016 04:29 PM

If Richie went out and bought 10,000 copses himself he just might get to no.1

B.J. Always 11-18-2016 01:37 AM

Bon Jovi has the name recognition and a loyal fan base in spite of Richie leaving and all the shows JBJ did for Mrs. C. There is sadly a lot of hate in the U.S. and really more than I think should be is being directed at Jon. I'm not seeing the same fallout on Bruce and Lady GaGa.

I'm sorry I just can't see RSO getting anywhere. They can both be good separately, but to me their voices just don't mix well together.

Click on the CC button, it'll give (close enough) subtitles to what he says.

It seems that they are very close to finishing the album.

I think Luke Ebbin and Michael Bearden didn't work well.
Bob Rock is a honest producer, and demanding, that I like. I think they're in good hands.
