Did Richie just fall off the earth? Or is something up? There was a time where he / they were posting nonstop... I haven't seen anything in ages...

Ori keeps posting vids with her and Richie feeding geese. I guess it's what they're doing these days :3 She called herself "The Queen of Fowl" haha

She actually, if you look at her social media and she is the one posting for RSO - been the one who has done most of the "soon". Starting all the way back with the start of this post. Now she seems to have changed to "It will be worth the wait." Edit: Today on IG for RSO in the comments she said September and of course to follow their social media for updates. I'm just waiting for someone to ask what year??? |

There was a radio interview on KFox.com yesterday - if you go to their web page it's up - about the charity show on the 13th for ALS, the C-Snap charity and "He Said" album in September. He also is in a beer blog on their page - he said in the interview he was a "social drinker". So the claims of sobriety are over - as if most people didn't see it clear as day at the shows in 2014 and other videos.
http://www.kfox.com/ The radio dj mentioned Ori with Prince and MJ - am I the only one sick of hearing about these things? The shows didn't happen. She was on the MJ video and David Geffen brilliantly released her album at the same time giving her, her one platinum selling single. I know it's PR - But enough already. Years now of the same ole same ole. There were a lot of guitarist who did tour with them and they don't have the constant posting about it. |
The Richie Sambora & Orianthi album
Most alcoholics call themselves social drinkers. Their way of ignoring denial
|
Since when drinking beer is alcoholism? If so, most people are drunks.

If you are an alcoholic, you are supposed to avoid all alcohol at all times because one drink of any kind is a slippery slope. That is reality. If you don't think people can get drunk on beer, you must come from a section of society that can afford better than beer.
It's his life and he's going to do what it wants, but it's sad to me that he would play with such fire. PS: I don't drink beer. Anything that smells that bad can't possibly taste good. I can't stand being around people who are drinking it. |
The Richie Sambora & Orianthi album
I know as my sister is one. Lost everything to alcohol. Will often go out and say it's ok I can just have one......leads to carnage.
Had a excellent job, massive house, , fast sports car, nice husband......all gone. Had one blip in 18 months. Cost her driving licence for 3 years. If alcoholic you can't even have a sip |
People often turn to alcohol during a tough period of their lives. That doesn't mean that they have a problem with Alcohol forever. I'm pretty sure Richie did this when his marriage broke down, when his dad died, maybe when other stuff in his life that's gone wrong that we know nothing about. He has always drank through all the years in Bon Jovi and he never seemed to lose control of it, except for maybe the last 10 years. Maybe it's his age, maybe he's been going through some stuff. If he was an alcoholic by nature then I think he would have had more of a problem with it throughout his career, being in the position that he was in. My guess that it is more of a cause and effect. Maybe he can handle the alcohol and it's drugs or other things that cause his addictions. Because he's drinking again, it doesn't mean he's shooting up, or whatever...
There is more than one side to the "alcoholic" coin. If he's in a good place and can enjoy a drink again, then fine. If not, and he's happy with that, then it's his life at the end of the day... |
But at the same time it sounds like making excuses for it. When people accused him of drinking again people came back with "he's NOT, why would you say that?" And then when it's revealed he is it's "well he must be able to handle it". Shooting up is more harmful, yah, but that doesn't make him drinking again any more reasonable. "He could handle it before" doesn't really factor in because he got a problem because of it.
|
Let's lament over Richie liking his beer cold. Yeah, he's going downhill now and is going to lose everything and end up under the bridge. His other celeb friends will soon follow him as there's hardly anyone 'clean' there anyway :3
On a happy note: He confirmed September as the date he and Orianthi are releasing an album. |
Amazon knows nothing of this September release date.
|
Eddie Trunk was talking today about artists taking a very long time to complete albums. He specifically was focused on Tool, but he made the point about how sometimes artists will go on forever when they don't have a decisive person on board to tell them when to call it complete. He said it also works differently when you have a label and a deadline and a budget. I couldn't help but think of this RSO album during the conversation. Apparently, Tool has been going on ten years getting things done and Chinese Democracy took 15.

The Richie Sambora & Orianthi album
Pretty sure Eddie Trunk in the pod with Richie about 6 months back said he'd heard the album when Richie played it in his car for him.
Yet still not released. |
The thing with alcoholics is not that they have a beer now and then. It is control.
Ace Frehley nailed it during the time of release of Anomaly - and he really doesn't get stuff right that often :D :D - when he said that for twenty or thirty years he thought he was a recovering alcoholic, while he was just an alcoholic with a delusion of being able to smuggle in a beer here and there. Richie has a history which makes his normal drinking different from people without such history. Funny thing is Ori was always the girl with the water bottle before all this. She's going down with him, I fear. As for the September release - great!!! Did he mention a year? :) |

I wasn't making excuses for him, far from it. And I never believed that he was sober for second. I was just pointing out that the example that was posted earlier is only one side of alcoholism, addiction, etc. Not everyone is the same. I know this for a fact. Moving on... |
I'm sure that around this time last year, one of them also claimed the album would be out by last September....
And I remember after the whole leaving Bon Jovi thing, there was a video of Richie saying that he thought it would all be resolved by September...that didn't happen either... I think September his just his go to month!:mrgreen: |

Last year there were also all sorts of speculations that it might get released close to THINFS to profit from the promo for the band's album. I really won't believe any date anymore until we really have that record in our hands. |

And don't get me wrong - I learned to appreciate Richie's solo work and I would love to have more of it. I hope we actually get to hear it. |
|
The music was nice, but I couldn't understand 90% of the lyrics. This sounds like a job for Jackie. LOL

"Walk with me and I'll stand by you". Feels a little dull. Hopefully the record version will have a full band arrangement. Still would prefer to have Richie sing all of it, but it's pointless to be bothered by that at this point. |

He did not say a year but last year she said next: Of course I'm still voting for Feb.30th Sorry, IMO she was not the "girl with the water bottle". Brookly Allman has posted the bottle had Vodka in it (Joke??) - there were several pictures pre and very early with Richie with more than enough alcohol to not think she was all health conscious. Not saying she is alcoholic but not innocent. Allman had a vodka pong video in his garage the night before she was very late to the first Malibu guitar fest - I think it's since deleted. That was early on. Pics and favoured posts out there if you want to look for yourself. Richie has admitted a problem, said right after he left the band he had some slips and in NJ during the drug charity event that he was still in touch with his sober coach - in fact said that day. Bingers and some can have "calm" periods but there is always a storm unless they follow the Alice Cooper/Tico Torres "never" again. Look at the posts from the shows in 2014 - even on these boards. Shared here before, my Mom was a binger. 5 1/2 rehabs - seen/heard it all - they all want to think can control/be social again. Alcohol is the great deceiver. This coming up made me think about when Weiland's wife lashed out at fans for encouraging the behaviour. Understand her anger, hated the enablers but ultimately it is only one person who can make the change. They do need the right circle/encouragement and I don't think he has that. Edit: Had put Cornell, guess most recent on my mind but was Scott Weiland's wife who was upset on social media. |
I just hope it's a double album, and be able to pick up enough songs where Richie is the only vocals on those tracks.
