from about 9.45 he talks about BJ and he mentioned Richie, shows respect for Richie, better guitar player as substitution for RS they couldnt get it.
One day I hope RS will back and play together with Phil in studio and live while Shanks be back where he is most comfortable-studio.

Jeeper 02-04-2018 11:57 PM

I really like Phil. He’s a very good guitarist and his energy is desperately needed in Bon Jovi right now. But he’ll never be (nor is he trying to be) a Richie Sambora.

I’d love to see Richie back with Phil staying on board. I think it would bring the best out of RS. It’ll never happen though, obviously.

Phil is quite likable and appreciates the opportunity he's got. I don't see how anyone can dislike him for doing his job.

I agree Becky. He’s seized an opportunity with both hands and been very respective in the process.

Yes.

This is a discussion forum. I can call anyone anything as I please. Unless it's directed against one of the fellow board members, in which case it's up to moderators to decide in a particular case whether a line is crossed or not.

If your feelings get hurt when a famous musician being slammed, this is your problem and not anyone else's. If your feelings don't get hurt, but you are bothered by reading different opinions on a forum, it's also your problem. If you are not bothered, but you still feel the need to passionately defend them at every turn, it's still your problem.

Don't get me wrong, it works both ways. You are free to call anyone out on the stuff you disagree (e.g. "that performance wasn't that terrible!!!"), but then again, if it's unjustified, you might make yourself look ridiculous and get involved into more arguments with other members. There is no "right or wrong" here, but the economics of a forum decide whether your points are valid overall. In my personal opinion, in this case they're mostly not.

Excellent post, Walleris. Straightforward, but still very courteous. And a good summary of how things work around here most of the time.

Rokenrola, I appreciated your response, too! Sometimes the emoticons say it much better than I could, but I always get the "too short" error. I wouldn't let the harsh-sounding terms get to you. Sometimes people here use stronger words than necessary just to make a point. And just because someone says the music sucks, or the band sounds like shit, or they're critical of behaviors, it usually doesn't mean he or she doesn't still like the band or thinks the personalities involved suck. I can't remember who said it, but I agree that most times it's just frustration, more than anything else.

It's not important to hit every note. It is however, important to sing, when you're going out there being a singer. It's also quite important to sing in key, as opposed to whatever Jon is doing nowadays.

My point is that those that bitch on here are the ones who hear it live as opposed to the majority nowadays who are only able to hear it once it's on youTube. With every new Bon Jovi album it's audience is shrinking and dumbing down because most music they're playing is just more of the same. Jon often talks about how there's many people from many different ages in the audience but the majority who cared during the Crush era have left this band for dead many years ago. And the Crush era was where the band took a turn for worse as the music dumbed down a whole lot.

Bitch, I've travelled more miles to see Bon Jovi play than you'll most likely spend your whole life going to work. It's the whole reason why I've stopped going to see them live. I gave the JBJ solo project a chance in Milan 5 years ago and it became clear that it's just no longer Bon Jovi for me. It sounds like a poor tribute act and I am appaled not more people are hearing it. Now if you're not hearing it and are enjoying this then good luck to you. Enjoy it as long as it lasts. Like others have said, most delusioned fans on here were once huge fans. You're entitled to your opinion as much as I are to mine. But stop acting so butthurt and grow a pair. Your band has died, you're just a little slow and haven't realized it yet.

And yes, I am the smartest guy around here. Everyone knows it.

maybe I am just too sensitive about band, they have influence on my life, they got me from 92 to 95(war zone Bosnia) but I am not addicted to them, dont have any expectations about new stuff,I will always have old stuff to get impressed and new stuff to get some satisfaction that they are still around.

Does this mean that the third EP will be released tomorrow or just that one song?

Captain_jovi 02-08-2018 04:31 PM

The RSO video on Facebook said TWO songs are coming tomorrow. I Got You Babe and Forever All The Way.

Thinny 02-08-2018 04:36 PM

Have they actually made a video for this, or is that just a promo ad?

I can see the logic in releasing it for valentines day, but I still kinda hoped that they had forgotten about this cover....

SuperBrad 02-08-2018 08:37 PM

Forever all the way is a very nice simple Richie ballad .

Captain_jovi 02-08-2018 08:43 PM

If you change your iTunes area to Australia you can sample both songs.

For as much I'll get crucified for this, I've been looking forward to I Got You Babe for so long and it might be my favourite thing they've done. The harmonies are great and I wish their originals sounded more like this.

Forever All The Way is a great song.

thesedays2014 02-09-2018 10:19 AM

Nice song...simple, organic, lovely vocals,...

Now, imagine that short and sweet guitar solo then led on to a harder, more distorted one from Ori, ending with the two of them playing harmoniously like the Hotel California solo and the final chorus being distorted and Tico-type powerful drums with another guitar outro...it would then change from a nice song to a classic these two amazing guitarists are capable of releasing ✌️

Thinny 02-09-2018 10:19 AM

Together All The Way is one of those songs that gives me goosebumps!! Love it! Thanks for posting guys!

jon-flp 02-09-2018 12:01 PM

It's already on the spotify!

Man...what a GREAT song! Love Richie's voice! I miss this type of ballads from Bon Jovi.

Congrats Richie! Beautiful Song!!

Really liking Forever All The Way! Feels organic and sincere!

Somehow the melody near the end of the song always reminds me of One Last Goodybe...

like it too. nice song

Really LOVED this song!!!! I'm glad that Richie could still pull off a so good song.

Forever All the Way

The first time we met, I must confess,
My heart was like an empty house,
With the keys locked in my head.
When I look back, in my time of need
You became my miracle
And my reason to believe.

When the waves get rough
We can fall back on us
We’ll be together
Forever, all the way

When we look back at the landscape of our lives
There were moments that stood still for us
Like a snapshot in our minds
There were things we could have done
Maybe words left unsaid
Still we kept our promise shining
And the passion in our bed

And when the waves get rough
We know that we’ve got us.
I don’t make many promises,
But I’m promising you:
When there’s no words left to say
Our love will find a way
We’ll be together
Forever, all the way

Now when life gets me down,
I don’t feel alone.
Dry my tears upon your shoulder,
And I’ve got your heart to take me home.

And when the waves get rough
We know that we’ve got love.
I saw a million churches when I looked into your eyes.
And with the last breath I take
I’ll find the strength to say,
“We’ll be together
Forever, all the way.”

All the way…

Thinny 02-09-2018 03:16 PM

Thanks Jackie, love the lyrics!

Eveline 02-09-2018 05:20 PM

P. Gabriel

"In your eyes
I am complete
In your eyes
I see the doorway to a thousand churches"

**

I knew this phrase about million churches in the eyes sounded familiar! The ballad is OK, though. I got you babe, on the other hand...

rolo_tomachi 02-09-2018 08:11 PM

Fantastic songs, especially Forever All The Way, sounds really cool.

Dammit, Richie should be the star of this duo. All those duo songs are focused on Orianthi as lead singer, this is not 50% same, and it bothers me a bit, Richie's songs sound at another level for me, with more feelings, he can still sing great.

rolo_tomachi 02-09-2018 08:43 PM

They should start playing their songs, there are some big things in these EPS, I Dont Want To Have To Need You Now, Together On The Outside, Forever All The Way, Take Me, We Are Magic, One Night of Peace, Masterpiece..

These songs with some additional old solo songs by Richie could be a great show.

bjcrazycpa 02-09-2018 09:11 PM

I want to like Forever All The Way based on the lyrics but so far only “meh” for me. I’ll give it a few more listens though.

I'm still struggling here... I really want to like this music, I really do. I'm still a Richie fan regardless of my feelings towards his departure however it's just more of the same stuff...

Forever All The Way is just one of those songs. Sound like a Great Hall Of Fame type song but just not as good. It's a decent filler track or b-side... Based of the few posts I've read prior to listening, I was expecting more. Just Richie singing the songs without her, is an instant bonus though. She is really butchering most of these new songs...

I Got You Babe is a great classic song and it's the most alive thing I've heard them do to date. Richie sounds great. The downside again is her voice. Her singing the line I Got You Babe (especially on the 'babe' part) is annoying as ****. And the track is way too overproduced. It sounds like it belongs on The Glee Soundtrack.

After hearing Richie first sing Forever All The Way and now listening to her voice on I Got You Babe just proves to me that she is destroying this project. Richie using an amateurish vocalist was a bad decision.

This is way better than Great Hall of Fame, never really liked that track much. It's a proper sincere heartfelt balled...love it.

I've not time for I Got You Babe still....

Is this a ballad??? I guess when I read posts like "I miss this type of ballad from Bon Jovi", I'm expecting something completely different

If Richie had a guest spot on the show Glee and did a song with Lea Michele, I would expect I Got You Babe to be on their next compilation album. Not any type of major release from the band...

Alphavictim 02-10-2018 06:27 AM

Forever All The Way reminds me of Undiscovered Soul - the album, not any song in particular. Love the organic feeling, the more freeform playing as well - this was definitely missing from THINFS (or WAN, even - would have felt right at home on the second half of that album). But then again, Jon might have pitched in a chorus that stood out a bit more.

Kind of a bummer it took so long to just get a song in that style, which I feel Richie still does a lot better than whatever it was that occupied the majority of the two preceding EPs. So there's been one standout track for every... batch of new songs, I guess would be the correct term: Take Me, that Ori track on the second EP, and now this.

Either way, please more songs in this style.

Oh, and I don't care for I Got You Babe, but I guess the track means a lot to these two, so whatever.

As a Richie fan, up to now has been released 12 new original songs, 1 cover and 1 remix. 4 songs are Richie in the main voice, the rest are duets and Orianthi songs. If finally they are coming 2 or 3 Eps more, I could compile my own full album with the songs of Richie + some duet in which Richie is the most predominant voice, that until now has not been the case, all the duets are Ori feat Richie Sambora, and that's why I'm a little upset.

So far, the four songs of Richie (Take Me, IDWTHTNYN, One Night Of Peace, Forever All The Way) have not disappointed me, I hope more things. Maybe listen to the lighthouse studio version?
