they Joey in Wild in the Streets, and the Joey from 'Joey' are two different Joeys...Frankie from It's my Life is reffering to Frank Sinatra..

"Like Frankie said I did it my way"

Frank Sinatra had a song, called "My way"

and Tommy and Gina are fictional charechters based on 2 people that Jon and Richie knew growing up...

can anyone else confirm these?

Sambo-Chris 02-11-2003 08:15 AM

yep, confirmed ;). Joey is fiction, too.

basically a rip of of Shooting Star (bad company) right!

The story goes that Jon first saw Richie playing this in a bar somewhere.... they did seem to 'borrow' the concept

Who aren't tommy, gina and joey??

I think think that the band created them as fictional characters that we can relate to.

no, I mean the idea of doing a song about somebody basically as a uformism for yourself. It doesn't matter whether he's called Joey, Johnny, or even MrX, the concept is the same.

Plus I've seen Bad Company live, I know perfectly well it's Johnny... first lines of the song... 'Johnny was a schoolboy, when he heard his first Beatles song'. And even if I didn't, Bon Jovi have covered it, so I'd know it from there
