for my english class the teacher said we could do one of the topics on her sheet or research a songwriter or author, and since my group is Bon Jovi is am doin that, so i wuz wonder. . .
how is their life reflected in their music? like how did the music back then, and up till now reflect the real lives of Jon and Richie since they were the main songwriters, thx for ur help laterz

Don't think it really does.
Sure ,a lot of the stuff they sing is real -life inspired but most is fiction I think.
It sounds great and that' all what matters!

If you find something more you could use the Tommy and Gina story (as I can remember they are based on two people Richie and Jon used to know).
Maybe some songs like undivided about sep 11. Ya know, that really shocked them and then they wanted to be more optimistic. I can't remember where it was but once Jon said that everyday expresses that you should find something to live for because after sep 11 he noticed that life can be shorter than you would have thought.
You could also take apart the solo albums and make comparisms with the band albums. I'm sure that's a topic you can much talk about.
I think you can also find something interesting in the drycounty archives. I hope you'll find what you need.

Wanna be my Valentine ?

Due to relationship problems (Jon broke up with Dorothea), the entire 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit album is inspired by that. Songs like Only Lonely and The Hardest Part Is The Night.

Wanted Dead Or Alive reflects their live on the road back then. Even so did I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, it's a flashback to the eighties.

You can say Jon's Blaze of Glory records is inspired by the movie, but also by his life. Billy Get Your Guns can be about the most wanted cowboy in the west or about the most wanted cowboy in the music industry.

Bed Of Roses is about Jon's relation with his wife and carreer.
Dry County was a song Jon wrote while he was taking some time of on a motorcycle through the country.

The song My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms was born out of Bed Of Roses (when he wrote the song in the morning with a hangover from last night) and symbolizes, I think, Jon's fear of running out of inspiation. Wether this is a reflection of his life, I'm not sure.
The whole These Days album is kinda dark, and even they don't know why. Jon got a second child, Richie got married, there was nothing to be dark about.

All That Really Matters from Richie is about his wife and child.

Midnight In Chelsea from Jon was written while he was living in London, so it sort of reflects his life there.
August 7 4:15 was influenced by the death of somebody close to Jon (I forgot who).

It's My Life was influenced by Jon's carreer as an actor.
Thank You For Loving Me & You Had Me From Hello were both inspired by a movie.

Undivided was of course influenced by 9/11.
Open All Night was influenced by Ally McBeal and Jon's role in it.

I hope this helps you. Some points are open for discussion though.

ahh thx loads yall, with this i can finish my report now, i had the info on the life just needed how their music reflected life o_O thx again it's a major help i had figured the earlier songs where inspired by the way John used to skip school to go to the Powerhouse and then Just Older wuz bout how he's older but still "young at heart" so to say

You guys forgot about Blood on Blood, Never Say Goodbye, and I'll Be There For You! The characters in Blood on Blood were based on friends Jon had. Never Say Goodbye was about Jon and Richie's old memories. I'll Be There For You was about how the band was so bussy touring that they didn't spend enough time with their girlfriends.

Richie was inspired for I think These Days (or Hey God not really sure here) and Harlem Rain when he was driving around in a limousine in NY and saw a homeless old man on the street.

I had to do something similar a few years ago for music. We had to do a project on a band we liked. We had about three weeks to do it, including lessons. I spent the time playing the keyboard, then the night before it was due in, I just printed of a biography somebody else had written on Bon Jovi for their page. Sounds good right? I handed it in without reading it, then got it back to read the first line.....

"Jon Bon Jovi, always better looking that the best looking guy at school".

My advise, print something of the internet, BUT READ IT FIRST!!!!
