TicketMaster is the biggest scalper in the US.

TicketMaster is the biggest scalper in the US with its agreements and partnerships with the biggest promoters and venues. It almost monopolises the industry. It is the Microsoft of the entertainment industry.

Move to Europe, where people aren't greedy, and we have general admission.

I agree with this statement. They are the antichrists for sure. WTF with those 'ticketmaster handling charges'?

Personally, I worship the ground tm walks on. My 2 USA trips Ive made in 99 and 02, using tm online got me seats in the 1st, 1st, 4th, 6th, 10th, 10th, rows of various sporting events, as well as numerous other good seats. Forget the handling charge, I also had to pay an International handling fee, but so what. They get you the best seats without having to move to America to buy them at a box office. For the international market, TM is great, and makes an overseas trip totally worth the massive cost. I have no problem with them.

Ticketmaster *does* suck. They charge "convenience fees" on every ticket. Convenient for who?!?! 2 of my concert tickets...$70.00 face value, by the time fees were added on, $164.00 for the pair. They even make money off of cancelled events, the convenience charge and "handling" fees are non-refundable. They still made money off of me for a cancelled show a few years ago.

Ticketmaster sucks. For once I agree with KRB. Handling charges...please!!! They made money off of me for the GNR concert that Axl never showed up to. Total rip-off.

TicketMaster doesn't have the power that it does in the US since it doesn't monopolise the market in the UK.

Not sure how it works in the US, but we have a number of Anti-Monolpoly rules in place to encourage competition.
