Makes you realize what an amazing song that really is but just like most of their songs, Jon is the only one that could really do them justice.

I agree. I don't think it suits a woman's voice, at least not in the arrangement she did of it.

It should be a rule of thumb - chorus should always be in a higher key than the verse. When she did the whole song in the same key, it just sounded lame, the chorus loses all its emphasis.

I disagree. I much prefer Richie's I'll Be There For You.

Not enough rasp, and the higher notes in the first verse destroy all sense of low-key-intimacy the original arrangement had. The original had a bluesy quality to it, despite all the overblown harmonies and all, but this one is just a straightforward pop-rock-tune.

Oh come on!!!! Even during Jon's vocal prime? Jon delivered that song like nobody else.

Yeah definitely, I think Richie's live version was way more bluesy. I just generally preferred it. Really thought it suited his voice.

Trust me, I think Richie does deliver an excellent vocal of the song but Jon's the one with the passion. You just feel it in his delivery. I mean his scream is just epic (I Wish I've Seen You Blow Those Candles Out.... Ahhhhhhhh).

Everyone's got their opinion but man, I this Jon wins this one.

Most of the time when I hear tribute bands or random youtubers cover BJ,I realise what a great vocalist he was. They don't even come near what they used to pull of,but nowadays Jon sings like a 1 year old who is crying and acts like a robot on stage most of the time...even when he says things like ''Are you ready'' or ''1 2 3 4'' he sounds like he has a cold or something. The best part is during BOR when he says something like ''I waaaaaa lay you down on a bed of roses, for toniaaaaaaaaa i sleep on a bed of nails''
