THE MOST...amazing concert.. I have ever been to!!

So, yeah, maybe this would do well in the tour discussion section....but....I am too tired to go there.

The concert tonight, FEB 14, Nashville, was completely awesome and the best I've seen and ... just read on..

The Goo Goo Dolls opened with "Dizzy"... and rocked !!!! They are my other favorite band.. :D Hah.

Goo Goo Dolls setlist (Played for an hour!!)
Dizzy
Big Machine
Black Balloon
Name
Sympathy
... and well, the usual hits, including Iris and some other songs..

One of my favorites was played "All Eyes On Me".. Anyway, they did great! During the end of "Name".. John was singing and he laughed and went "You ****ed me up!" .. (Because he screwed up on one part)

Bon Jovi opened with Bounce

.. Setlist:

Bounce
Wild In The Streets
You Give Love A Bad Name
..

They played most of the usual hits and included "Always"... as well as "I'll Be There For You" with Richie on vocals. Also, an awesome performance of "Runaway"..

Richie was great on vocals and guitar. He rocked big-time.

Dave and Tico and Hugh were all great as well..

But I was mostly impressed with Jon. He played a LOT of guitar..and his vocals were better than ever. He hit ALL...and I mean.. ALL the high notes on ALL of the songs... and did the most amazing "scream" I have ever heard from him. The concert was complete proof that he hasn't lost a BIT/ANY of his vocal ability. The scream that he after "Bad Medicine" was not only INCREDIBLY "HIGH PITCHED"... But LONG... SMOOTH... LOUD... CLEAR... .. Just, powerful and amazing. Sounded WAAAAY better than the scream he did on "I'll Be There For You" on the STUDIO version.

I got Photos that I may post on here later.. I just had an awesome time... Ask me for more details if you're interested..

and goodnight you ... uhh.. people

Where is the setlist???

Not one person has gone into detail about the use of the lasers, like what songs they are used in and the visual effects used. Only one article, the NY Times article described their stage entrance.

The lasers were used throughout the show. One example....I noticed that during one song (I don't remember which one) that the lasers were circling the stage floor around Richie during a solo. They weren't really all that big a part of the show. As for their stage entrance......it wasn't anything over the top. The stage was black when the guys came out from in between the drums and keyboards. They started playing Bounce, the lights came up, Jon came out went straight to his mic and started singing. I guess that's why noone mentioned anything....there was nothing really to mention.

BleedinGuitar 02-16-2003 05:08 AM

Hmmmm.....the Times described their entrance as being on hydraulic lifts from under the stage. Maybe something was broken the night you saw them?

jenn1189 02-16-2003 05:20 AM

Hmmm....maybe. Or maybe they changed it. I checked with my fiance' who went with me. He said the same thing. Black stage, the band came out and started playing, lights came on, Jon ran out to the mic and started singing. Maybe someone else who was in Atlanta can tell us what they saw.

BleedinGuitar 02-16-2003 06:11 AM

Nah, im not referring to Atlanta. I'm referring to the CAA show in Jersey. Thats the review the Times did.
