Full CD available to listen for those who bought on Amazon.

Shame I'm in work and will have to wait until I get home

Not had chance to listen to all of it yet but the clean version of love is war sounds amazing. Prefer demo of Diamond ring to original but that's just personal preference both versions are good. Love full moon high and judgement day. The jovi version of house of fire changes it on to an entirely different song but im very impressed. Good release.

My SDE is still waiting to be dispatched and my cloud player still only displayed the original 12 album tracks. Never mind, I'll just really have to wait until it arrives through the post!

EDIT: My copy has just been dispatched and is not ready for me to download! Amazon must have read my complaint on here.

May I ask for a pm with a link? Local shops are sold out :( I don't know whether the demand is so high or they ordered only a few copies.

I'm still thinking about the Japanase issue because I buy all my BJ music from Japan. I've found only one difference - the CD are the SHM format.

Downloading couple of songs including Let's Make it a baby
It is the X Rated Version of Let's Make it a Baby

Dave 1986 06-30-2014 04:09 PM

It might be worth noting the iTunes version is "Mastered for iTunes".

Bounce7800 06-30-2014 04:36 PM

Competition to win a copy:

Can't see a T&C's link but I would guess it's UK only

Bounce7800 06-30-2014 08:11 PM

Got home to pick up my copy, impressed with the booklet.

This bit is interesting:

Any idea what the next one is?

Just listening on spotify now. Liked the acoustic version of Born to Be My Baby. Interesting cause i once remember reading Desmond Child saying that after he (yes he) had written it that it was a a delicate ballad which would have been a mega smash but that the band had ruined it by speeding it up and applying a livin on a prayer like production on it. So perhaps this version is how Desmond intended or closer to it. Personally I'm glad they sped it up though, the original is one of my favourite jovi songs.

So glad the band have finally done this release never thought they'd do it but they really should have done it many many years ago, like mid 90s!, then I think it would have sold much more.

What is the booklet like? I may have to buy this release eventually. First time i've posted on this board for years - this is an exciting event for me!

Wasn't Jon the one who said that if they released the acoustic version it would have been #1 but someone (don't remember if Bob Rock) wanted another rock song?

Bounce7800 07-01-2014 10:38 AM

The picture from the booklet I posted on the last page says that Jon preferred that version of the song

Understandable

Raz0r 07-01-2014 03:40 PM

I actually didn't care that much for the acoustic version, very much prefer the original. Loved the Thin Lizzy cover, it made me want to listen to Def Leppard’s Yeah! Again.

Does Anyone Really Fall In Love Anymore seems so incomplete without the “I know’s”, I finally get why folks were complaining. Still, I very much enjoyed my first listen this morning. 

Dam, that booklet does look awesome. I'm a little bummed there wasn't a digital booklet with the iTunes download. :-(

pudge104 07-01-2014 05:42 PM

Has anyone in the US found a store that is carrying the 3 disc version? It doesn't appear that my Best Buy has it :(.

The booklet is the incentive to purchase the CD. If there was a digital booklet, it would be flying all over the internet and no one would buy it.

Keep in mind, most people don't scan them either because bending the pages could risk ruining it.

Dude, I'm struggling myself here. I didn't realize that.

I purposely didn't get it on Amazon becasue they jack the prices up. You usually find a store that offers it at a sale price within a first week of release. This sucks. I might not have a choice but to order it.

You could get it on Best Buys website for a couple dollars less. Like 2 bucks.

I didn't want to order it either. I used to love getting physical music the day of release in the store, I don't do that much anymore, was very much looking forward to this. I'll hunt around after work, but I'm thinking I'll have to eventually order it later today.

Javier 07-01-2014 06:38 PM

the Best Buy near me didn't have the Super Deluxe version, only the Deluxe one. I might order it as well. With shipping to the island it usually takes about 3 days with normal shipping costs. Hopefully after work I'll be able to find it somewhere, but I really don't want to have to wait until the weekend to listen to it arrrggh!!!

Does it matter to them if someone downloads it or buys a physical copy? I always figured the price difference was due to the cost saving of not having to manufacture a physical product.

They do sometimes include a digital booklet with the download on iTunes, I got one for WAN. :-?

IDK - I've paid for the album, I don't feel like I'm ripping anyone off because I want to see the booklet. :-? I would feel a little taken advantage of however if I had to buy the album again in another format to get it. :-?

danfan 07-01-2014 07:23 PM

Just got the Super Deluxe in the mail from Amazon.

Let's face it, most people are only interest in Disc 2 and have no desire to download the entire album again or just want the 16 non-album tracks.

The booklet forces people, like myself, to purchase the entire package again which will boost NJ sales and turn a nice profit. If it wasn't for the booklet and packaging, I might only download the 13 tracks individually.

But even based on what you described above, you need to look at the grand scale of a world-wide release. There is a prices difference between i-tunes and the CD and even if that's only 1 dollar and 250 thousand more people purchase the CD, that's 250 thousand dollars which is not chump change. And that's just based on a dollar, the difference is much more which could equate to a million +

Like I stated, if there was a digital book, it would entice more illegal downloading. You download it from itunes, you save a few bucks, but you don't get the packaging. I think it makes sense.

Also, what's the benefit of downloading it off of i-tunes or ordering it on-line? What, you get it 4 hours earlier before the mail arrives? We are all smart internet people and know there are ways to hear it or steal it within those 4 hours anyway.

Rdkopper, I see what you're saying, mate, but for me personally - you've seen one Jovi booklet, you've seen them all. Hard material and fancy pictures doesn't do it for me. I wasn't impressed with the box set garb 10 years ago so I have downloaded the album from Spotify. £10 a month for unlimited downloads. You can't look a gift horse in the mouth on that one. All my music now is from Spotify. The sound quality is better and louder than iTunes. It has also enabled me to give up my 5 year love affair with the iPhone with a look at changing this winter.

Thanks cool man! I'm not implying anything about the book or trying to talk anyone into buying it. To each his own. The original statement was about why doesn't i-tunes offer a digital booklet. I just provided some incite.

The Spotify deal sounds pretty cool. Enjoy!

For what it's worth, while the book is cool, the person who wrote the short story inside didn't do all her homework.

- Claims the shot of the band hugging at the end of the BTBMB video was them receiving news that New Jersey had just hit #1. Not true. It's of them getting the news that Bad Medicine was a #1 single.

- Claims New Jersey outperformed it's predecessor. Not true.

- Claims New Jersey tour was 267 shows. It was 237.

- Good call on the first one

- With hit singles, it did.

- Are you sure? Maybe the other source was wrong? I honestly have no idea. Maybe they are including other events like charity type shows. I forgot but going off memory I though at the end of Access, it was 267

That's one hell of a non-sequitur. Itunes has nothing to do with illegal downloads, besides, there's websites that offer scans of booklets. Illegally. Just like mp3s are illegal.

So the legal download offering less is a pretty bad idea.

I never once stated that iTunes had anything to do with illegal activity. Go back and reread my posts correctly.

And if there is a website that offers booklets, post it here.

I'd love to read through the deluxe booklet as well as many others.

Weird thing is that iTunes normally does offer digital booklets with new releases. Like I said, I got one with WAN, and most new releases I download. :-?

They were talking about sales, I presume. An album could have 10 hit singles, but might not sell well. I've heard either 232 or 237. definitely not 267.

I was told that because of location the Super Deluxe edition would not be available at my local Wal-Mart or Best Buy, so I ordered it from Amazon today. At lease I got the free download, so I can listen to it already. I was really looking forward to the dvd though since I don't have Access All Areas. For others who are having the same trouble, I guess pre-order will be the best option for the upcoming releases. Anyone hear any more about what is coming next?

efiste2 07-02-2014 01:40 AM

my super deluxe dropped through the door on Sunday from Amazon UK, I personally think its a great package, NEW JERSEY is and always will be a great album, even though I have at least four versions (orginal/Re-master/special edition etc etc) The Sons of Beaches Demos is brilliant simply because it has a more or less acoustic version of Stick to your Guns, the demo tracks sound alive and raw, no over process etc. Then I finally get a decent DVD of Access All Areas which to me perfectly demonstrates just how good BON JOVI once were. and a dvd of the Singles puts the icing on the cake. Oh yes and a £4 refund from Amazon due to their price guarantee. I only really bought this to get Access All Areas. I wasnt aware the NJ videos were included, and I didnt know Stick to your Guns was included as a Demo. A great release, not a rip off by any means in my opinion. I would even go so far as to buy another copy and stash it away in a sealed time capsule, so when im old and frail, I can dig it out and it will be a complete reminder of the whole era around NEW JERSEY, to me the BON JOVI album I would take on my Desert Island. Oh and the booklet is great too, its full of the pictures i had on my wall way back then.

liljovi93 07-02-2014 01:50 AM

'Homebound Train' is superb! Really love the intro to it. Wish that was included on the final version.

Brilliant package though. Absolutely made up with it. 'Diamond Ring' is another that I really like. Probably more so than the original, to be honest.

Really hope we get many more like this. We deserve it after 'What About Now.'

trevrox 07-02-2014 07:12 AM

My local Best Buy had two of them, I got in line for the doors to open this morning.

SO HAPPY with this release!!! And I can't believe the Let's Make It Baby is the version with "I want to **** you"...so awesome.

Just finished watching Access All Areas, loved it!!! Everything about this is golden. Not one bad song here.

Although I agree about the "I know" in Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore?

Backdoor To Heaven and Now and Forever are excellent!! Loving Growing Up the Hard Way!

Love it all. I won't be listening to anything else for the next few days.

eddie73 07-02-2014 11:28 AM

Got mine yesterday. Hmv in uk are only stocking 2 of each version, which seems odd. Anybody noticed discrepancies in some of the photos of Jon and rich, re the years?

Dave 1986 07-02-2014 01:34 PM

Mine just arrived through the post!

Thought I'd confirm that "New Jersey: the Videos" on the DVD is the original VHS version (with titles/interviews) and not just the bare bone music videos like on the SWW DualDisc. This makes me happy. 8)

steel_horse75 07-02-2014 02:38 PM

Does anyone really.....is clearly a very early version.
It sounds like JBJ is really bored singing it and stops a few times.
Maybe he never liked it so thats why he gave it to Cher and it didnt make NJ
