What about a "New Jersey Deluxe Edition" tour?
The "Now and Forever" Tour
I've been thinking a lot about a small (few dates in many countries) tour, a "Nostalgia Tour" if you want to call it, with the excuse of the 25th anniversary of New Jersey and the 30th of the band. This could start next year as the exact date of 25 and 30 isn't needed (and right now isn't 25 or 30 anyway). This could be a standard setlist: 1. Lay Your Hands On Me 2. You Give Love A Bad name 3. Everyday 4. Wild Is The Wind 5. Homebound Train 6. Bad Medicine 7. Keep The Faith with extended solo 8. Now and Forever with talk fom Jon introducing the "new" song, talking about 30 years, friendship, bla bla 9. Living In Sin with Diamond Ring intro 10. In These Arms 11. Born To Be My Baby 12. Runaway 13. It's My Life 14. Have A Nice Day 15. Who Says You Can't Go Home [If Richie's with them, he could sing Rosie here so Jon can catch up his breath] 16. Ride Cowboy Ride 17. Stick To Your Guns 18. Wanted Dead Or Alive 19. These Days 20. Livin' On A Prayer 21. Blood On Blood Encore 22. I'll Be There For You The songs are from the following albums: Bon Jovi: 1 song. Slippery When Wet: 3 songs. New Jersey Deluxe Edition Songs: 12 counting Rosie. Keep The Faith: 2 songs. These Days: 1 song, 2 if counting Diamond Ring intro. Crush: 1 song. Bounce: 1 song. Have A Nice Day: 2 songs. I know i ****ed up with no songs the lastest Bon Jovi albums, but it's the price to pay if you want to add New Jersey songs and keep most of the hits. Also, if Jon want to play Lost Highway so much, he can play it instead of Who Says You Can't Go Home and move this one to the encore. Of course setlist could be longer and with many songs added, Dry County, This Ain't A Love Song, Someday I'll Be Saturday Night, and many others. Bon Jovi have played up to 30 songs in the last tour, so the list could grow. So, what would you think? Could Jon pull out these songs? How you think the public would react? I know it's not happenning, and it will never happen, but I'd love it. |
Not gonna happen without Richie, and he aint coming back anytime soon. Combined with Jon's hatred of anything nostalgia sadly nothing like that would ever happen

...imagine whole crowd singing "tell me why, love is war, what the hell are we fighting for?" :D Of course it ain't gonna happen, but if so, it might be their greatest tour since since NJ Syndicate, especially if JBJ healed his voice before it ;) |
I don't want that. Jon's voice changed so much now that he can't even sing Because We Can properly. And you suggest the high-note songs from the 80s?

I don't think it can happen because of 2 reasons.
1.Richie and Jon are still ''at war''. 2.Just as someone mentioned above,Jon can't even sing WAN,BWC properly...so I can't imagine him singing stuff like Does Anybody Really Fall in Love Anymore (it would probably sound like ''di anyoni ily fall in love anyooaaa'') or Backdoor To Heaven,House of Fire etc. Seriously though,if Jon doesn't take care of his voice, around 2018 his setlist will consist of 3 hours of just shouting ''iiiiiiiiiii'' as nasally as possible and maybe if we're lucky we'll get an encore where he will whisper Lost Highway or WWBTF. |
Rolo, I added it as Jon loves to say "It's All Right". We're going to hear that song until we die or he does.

Probably he'd play it once and then replace with We Got It Going On :p Agree, I love that song but there's no way in hell Jon could sing it, too many high notes, the "I know, I know!" makes it impossible to him. That's what I didn't added it. I think he could do Backdoor To Heaven, but it wouldn't be nice to hear. Quote:

IF Jon's voice was up for it (which is isn't), IF Jon and Richie weren't having a fall out (which they do) and IF Jon was for a nostalgia show (which he isn't) this might be a cool scenario. But since hell would freeze over WAY before that happens I won't waste much time thinking about it :D
