Sambora rumoured to be joining Whitesnake?

So, according to the Spanish edition of Rolling Stone, the rumour is he may be joining Whitesnake? Couldn't see it happening, but it'd be cool nonetheless.

The leader of Whitesnake, David Coverdale, has revolutionized the world of international rock talking about replacing guitarist Doug Aldrich, who left the band earlier this year.

"We had a new super guitarist proof for a while, as I moved long ago. Unfortunately, for contractual reasons for its part, can not reveal his name and serial number yet, "said the legendary vocalist on the band's website.

Since then, rumors have been shot and Richie Sambora have placed as number 1 in all the pools, due mostly to the situation of freedom since his departure from Bon Jovi in the spring of last year.

Sambora has just finished (Thursday 3 July) solo world tour, which took him across Europe in recent weeks. From now on its horizon seems clear of contractual commitments, therefore.

No more information for now, but Coverdale was quick to clarify that this mysterious new signing has not previously been in Whitesnake (Sambora also fits in this course). Incidentally, the new disk group is "really good", as also advance vocalist.

Would funny, Orianthi has left Alice Cooper to make a new album with Richie ... imagine that now Richie goes on tour with Whitesnake ... Don't see it.

Not gonna happen. Richie is not good enough. He couldn't play the stuff Reb Beach and Aldrich played. Maybe some of the older stuff, but Richie's no Steve Vai.

Don't see it, but not due to Richie's undying loyalty to Orianthi.

Why would Richie join a washed up nostalgic band?

I saw them last year or 2 years ago and they were horrible.

Horrible? Really? I've never seen them live, but I got their Made in Japan DVD and it was an awesome show. Would love to see this happen: 1, seeing Richie in a more hard rocking band that will showcase his guitar skills better and 2, seeing what Richie's song writing skills can bring to Whitesnake.

But I'm toren as well. What happens to Richie's solo album if this happens? Can he juggle both gigs?

Greatest frontman of the 80s. Not likely though, not likely at all even though I'd love it.

I agree with this. I am not sure what the setlist is for a Whitesnake show but there are some stuff in the catalog that he wouldn't touch. I am not knocking Richie either, he just is or never was that kind of player.
