Now I remember why I and several others just stopped posting here. What's everyone's problem with a guy just gracefully growing older and changing his interests and points of views?? Jon looked sharp in that suit, he has gray hair, he's 54 and he probably won't wear ripped jeans or earrings anymore, he won't have a six pack again anytime soon. I admit, some of the songs that he's written lately just aren't my cup of tea, but just because I don't like them doesn't mean it's not coming from a sincere and genuine place. I'm not into political statements, but those are the things that move him now, if he wanted to just please the fans he would try to make a record as close to Slippery as he vocally could. Making this record without Richie, continuing to tour, changing record labels, keeping his hair gray, not being overly bothered about keeping his persona "rock 'n' roll". I think this is the coolest I've found the guy in a long time. Some of you just need to admit to yourselves that even though they are a huge part of your lives Jon and the band just don't do it for you anymore. Either that or it's suddenly cool to tear apart every aspect, change and growth from someone.....

No, what I did was use sarcasm to point out the silliness in complaining about Jon's clothes. Not actually debating about which clothes he wears are best. Those are two different things.

Me thinking that image is important and you thinking that it's 'silly' is still a debate..

If you think your favorite rock star looking like Bill Clinton is cool, then that's your opinion. The sad thing is, Jon would probably take that as a compliment... If you want to play the part then you need to look the part... if you are going to make a real rock album then you need to look like a real rock star... not a wanna be politician using your music as a vehicle... and if that opinion is going to stop you and others from posting, it might be time to rethink some things...

That's true. I can't think of any politician at the moment with a shot at becoming President of the United States who's entire platform is basically insulting people who don't agree with him. That would be nonsense!

Very well said. The only people I know who have a problem with Jon's latest look are the people who post on this board. When I talk to people in real life, like yesterday, casually talking to a coworker who has no emotional investment in the band, she said Jon's look had changed but it worked so well for him and "he wasn't hurtin' for it." She said he still looked as handsome as he ever did and we talked about how unfair it is that men can go gray and be called "silver foxes" while we as women have to fight the never ending battle dying our hair.

Jon's latest style is really irrelevant to me. I care what his voice sounds like and what the songs he writes are going to be like. However, I think it would be ridiculous for him to be wearing leopard print leather and singing about chasing after young girls at this stage of his life.

Honestly, it just doesn't bother me. For me, if I like the songs, then an image/look is not important to me at all. As Javier, pointed out, what if the look is actually what he's comfortable with verses what you are implying in that he's actually purposely going for a non rock and roll image.

His image is the least of their problems. The most nuisance about Jon, is his attitude, the CEO has become so gentrified, apathetic and... so selfish, that is hilarious read the title of his new album. He has sold this house for over 15 years. The paradox of all this is that... will continue selling, to the highest bidder.
