I have a brilliant memory and I do remember historically (the past few albums) of Jon taking certain strolls down his NY street looking like a million bucks right before album release dates... Go back to the stalker blog Facebook and look at some dates...

You act like he stops existing and isn't in photos no matter what point in the cycle he's in. http://www.gettyimages.ca/photos/jon...t=best#license He looks no more or less "like a million bucks" than he's looked for the last year or so. He's had plenty of pictures of him standing outside or on vacation taken and it wasn't because an album was coming up.

And for the love of pete, why do you get so aggressive about being the number 1 fan that knows eeeeeeeeeeeeeverything.

Yeah, you're being ridiculous again.

Maybe he bought/took over Mercury records? He's had his own label before. Just a thought, but would bring additional (artistic) freedom and so on... ;-)

Mercury records technically doesn't exist in the US, being swallowed up under the Universal umbrella according to Wiki

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Records

There is Mercury & Mercury Classics within Virgin/EMI in the UK though.

Yeah, but it used to exist, didn't it? Or was it just Europe? Maybe they offered Jon his own label under the Universal umbrella, and resurrected the Mercury name for it... (yeah, may sound a little crazy at first, but think about it. Unless Jon's a notorious lyer, they had to offer him something to come back (unless he crawled back to them, but I seriously can't see him doing that))

BTW, Bon Jovi are listed on Virgin/EMI under Mecury? Is that the same one (i.e. beloging to Universal Music)?

Your correct, Mercury records did indeed exist in the US. I am so guessing here but I think it went away after the These Days record, so late 90's or so. If you recall, that was one of the reasons given for the big gap between These Days and Crush.

Mercury went away and later they got put on Island Def Jam with some bunch of rap artists. It's one of many reasons so long passed between TD and Crush. Jon was waiting to see how the new label fit among other things.

Didn't that get reorganized? Mercury being like a division under the Island Def Jam label? And Island being under Universal's distribution? This whole labels and umbrella's under labels confuses me....

It might just be a cool little vintage tee made for Jon being that he is one of the few, if not only, guy let from the Mercury days... Maybe after his Burning Bridges rant, someone from the record company thought it was a cool idea to have a handful of tee shirts made for Jon as a gift and a way to laugh it all off...

Please don't over think any of it.. As someone suggested above, I seriously doubt Jon purchased part of the record company and took the Mercury name... He tried that back in 1990 under Jambco (Jamco) and failed miserably... He helps Cinderella, Skid Row, & Color Me Bad, which all go on to have huge successes then goes at it himself with Billy Falcon & Aldo Nova and they totally tank.. Talk about shit luck...
