Well to be fair there's been actual discussion o the album through-out. We can close this down and start a new one once the release details are out I guess.

Indeed... Maybe Hugh doesn't want to be officially in a band? Or it could be just the type of agreement they had back in 1994 and never changed that. I don't think Hugh has a big problem with that...

I'm not sure what the problem is. If all I'm looking for is an update about the album, I can Google it. I come here to see what ppl think. Every time perceived new information drops, it leads to discussions of that new bit of info, whether it's official "news" or just rumor, hints, or gossip. In most cases, it IS all related in some way to the album itself or to its release, promotion, singles, videos, or what members hope to get when the album is released.

I suppose the mods could separate the news items from the discussions, but that defeats the purpose of a forum, IMO. A forum, by its very nature, is a place where ppl can discuss a common interest, in this case news (or speculations) about the new album.

A possible way around that might be to have a separate thread where only "facts" regarding album updates are posted. Those who are only looking for updates could check that thread and move on. But it would need to be strictly JUST the facts, with absolutely NO discussion allowed! Because as soon as someone posts a question or an opinion about what the latest update means, someone else would respond and then it's off to the races again; and we'd just end up with multiple discussion threads about the same topic and yet one more place to sift through for actual news!

This thread could be retitled "The Bon Jovi Album: This House Is Not For Sale (discussion thread)". If someone wanted to "discuss" the new information, they could copy it to this thread with their comment, where it becomes fair game for opinions and speculation. Then no one could complain about the discussion veering off-course, as a result of comments (like RDK's, for example), which have nothing to do with the album per se, and sometimes lead to mini-sidebar discussions like this one.

Just my thoughts.

I'm the opposite. I like hard facts and I don't want to search through 162 pages to find it... I want to know when, where, how, who, etc... people opinions are fine too but just not my priority. I'm not suggesting a board where people can't post opinions, I'm suggesting a separate post with hard facts on the album only...

Don't forget, there is a cycle... you first get the single, and maybe even a second song, then comes the 30 second samples, after that comes the longer samples... then comes the bonus tracks titles, etc, etc etc... there is going to be a shit load of information leading up to this album release...

This post does contain some basic info that is now really just common knowledge plus it's been derailed so many times... again, I'm all about it but I just think a real album hard facts post is in order... A post for opinions and a separate post for the details....

Yup. I think that's what I just suggested. Keep the discussion going in this thread but retitle it so it's not confused with a new "information only" thread.

Log in and check the last page of this thread. Odds are if there's any news you'll catch it near the end of the thread. I think asking for updates at the beginning of this thread is lazy to be honest, at least at this stage of very little being said. This is nothing like the Richie situation thread that did grow by leaps and bounds daily and fishing for actual news really was a chore.

We'll update the OP as and when there is info. I did ask before for someone to knock one up and I'll paste it in there, but no one did so clearly it can't be that important.

Matt has said on twitter that the new single isn't 'God Bless This Mess' and said the new single will hopefully be out in August.
