Something is telling me that this album is going to he similar to the Crush reboot that happened 16 years ago...

Almost half the Lost Highway album was considered for lead off single so let's not act like this move is strange. He's damned if he talks too early about potential plans and damned if the plans change.

choosing the first single is hard because especially nowdays u have one chance, if the first song is killer the album can take off, if not u lose...
god bless this mess as a title doesnt look too good to me, sounds like a tongue in cheek rocker...of course i havent heard it but for some reason i believe that that was a smart move...:icecream:
i also believe in cycles and if bj can pull off another crush comeback i d be over the moon. jon is much older, richie is gone and live his voice sounds bad but who knows...

Hehe some of the comparisons with crush are a bit much for me lol. IML spawned a decade of "live your life" songs. I almost hope jovi never have a huge hit again in order to prevent jon latching on to what he thinks is a successful formula and trying to replicate it until he's 65! I'd rather he just wrote stuff like burning bridges, no hit single but it felt like there was a bit of substance there.

Matt could be wrong as usual. If they have recorded a new video, is soon to be launched, I do not think wait a couple of months to do so.

Unless there's a lot of editing needed, yeah it seems really early for the video for the first single. Matt could be right or wrong on the single, it doesn't really matter what it is, I wonder why it's so early. Hell, the video for Because We Can came so long after it hit radio.

August is still relatively soon. If the video is out in August that probably means the single will likely debut somewhere in late July...

Maybe they draw two singles before releasing the album, like other artists, I think David Bowie did this with his latest album and did very well.

End of June - first single
July - official video
Mid-August - second single
early-September - official video
End of (or mid-)September - the album
Promo Tour - fall

Just my thoughts.

It's amusing to see how much time some people spent on trying to figure out what is gonna happen where and when :D
Just wait and see what the band will do. When it comes to publishing strategies they don't seem to have had a conclusive strategy for the last decade anyway.
