Here we go with personal definitions again. I never said they weren't "rock." I just added that they were radio and television friendly which, IMO, adds the "pop" element. They certainly brought in Desmond Child to ensure that they were even more pop friendly by the 3rd album and the three of them struck platinum (actually diamond) as a songwriting team. Like it or not, we can't deny that tidbit of history.

Wait. You may be right, or wrong, but please answer a simple question.

Your last two posts have been about you discussing your own personal definition of what the band is/was. First you said they are pop rock, and in the quote above you discuss why you think the pop element is there as a justification for your personal definition. Fine.

So the question is, why can you spout your personal definition, but when someone else does you say "here we go again?"

Shut up about something if you actually don't like talking about it. Or at least don't bitch at someone else for just adding to something you said.

You aren't used to that yet? Becky seems to be like that constantly.

Let's just wait and see and give it our own 'personal definition' when we hear the album.

I'm not bitching. I'm sorry if you took it that way. I thought we were having a conversation. I didn't realize you thought we were arguing. Re read my posts without a confrontational tone and you'll realize I'm just talking to you, not arguing with you. Otherwise I can't control the tone in which you read what I write. Sorry, again. No harm meant.

Wow. Biggest rock band The Beatles or even TRSTONES aren't even close to rock looking at definitions of rock from some people here.

Trying to debate how to define what 'rock' is might be the worst topic of discussion I've read on this thread to date...

I'd rather watch point dry then read another post on this...

At this point, when I open my phone and see an update to this thread, I only want it to be real information on this album...

This is a discussion board and not a "what Rdkopper wants to read when he opens a thread" board :p

Open a new thread that is reserverd for the hard facts only and update that...

I figured you or Captain Jovi would reply as such... However, I couldn't agree more but there is a reason why we post subjects and should stay on topic... Two pages of trying to decipher what Jon thinks rock is, is utter crap and should take on its on topic...

I have no problem creating a new topic called hard facts on this new album... I think that should have been done a long time ago but I was vetoed down by the JT Nazi...

People discuss things, Jon trying to decipher what rock is may be vaguely related to the topic but it is related to it. Whining about how the posts are too much and you don't want this or don't want that in it is about as pointless as you're making the rest out to be. You don't have to get permission from captain-jovi to open a new thread, just do it if you want it so badly...

I just re-read what I posted. My tone sucked, you were the bigger person here. There was no need for the shut up part particulalry. My apologies, sometimes something isn't filtered and, well, it's out there so that's that.
