It's all good! :)

So, if the album is out in August or September, isn't it time we have a date? I don't remember how far ahead we knew about previous albums, but if it's really 2 months away or less, I cannot believe we don't have something solid.:???:

I think we'll find out soon enough. Jon has those runaway tour things pretty soon in Dublin and New York, he'll more than likely say something at one of those events.

That is what exactly what I have been thinking, these trips are a good opportunity for Jon to give more info about the new album, hopefully he will answer some of the burning questions, and maybe end some of the speculating here.

But it shouldn't be our means to obtain info about the new album. The band and/or management should be using social media to get that kind of info across. We shouldn't have to rely on dodgy YouTube videos and tweets from fans who shelled out the cash to see these shows in order to know about the release of a new record!

They seem to like leaving us in the dark, and yet bombard us on social media with random inspirational quotes from Jon, song lyrics, or "guess what was released on this day????!!!"

*big sigh* It's not, it's a way for the fans to get a sneak peek, some news sooner that we're meant to. Why would a band "keep fans in the dark" for a product they want to sell? Chill, Jon's taking some time off before promo time and pre-release hype starts off. Stuff is just not ready, calendar to when the release and info and press releases come out has probably already been established and we won't get them sooner than we're meant to, unless Jon answers something on the topic on the runaway tours shows....

Aside from a couple interviews from external outlets and the 'Album Done!' photo, we only know of THINFS thanks to hearsay from other fans. Look at the 'STICKY' thread - we have very few solid facts about an album rumoured to be released in no more than 2 months time! A video was shot, presumably for the first single. You think that they'd take a quick snap of the band, or hell, even the set and try to build some hype. I don't think they're trying to keep us in the dark, but they certainly give the impression that they lack the skill (or will?) to promote their product.

They've given us very little reason to be excited for the new album. We've had to generate that ourselves up to this point. By now they could have given us album (or single) art, teased 'in-studio' photos, done a couple short interviews or videos or maybe some kind of 'trailer' etc etc.

I really hope management/marketing or whatever proves me wrong over the next month or so, but I'd just really like there to be more hype for something that is very important to me. Being of the younger generation, I haven't really experienced proper Bon Jovi promo. I have vague recollections of TC and then followed WAN closely, so I suppose I just wish they (Bon Jovi the brand) seemed as pumped for the album as I'm trying to be!

Having said that, the music is what really counts - let's hope they restore some pride there ;)

Jon should be making all his loyal fans feel special not just the ones who shell out big $$$$ for the Runway trips. He should be answering "burning questions" on social media not just ones fans pay money to ask. I am not sure there are even burning questions because why ask when they won't be answered. His lack of trying to connect with his fan base borders on insulting yet he expects us to be eager to fill those stadium seats. (Well, not me as I don't plan to see the band.) It is just sad to remember being a fan where I avidly followed every interview and enjoyed the photos and would take umbrage at criticism or dismissal of the band. There used to be a lot of fun and accessibly with the band, now it is just a business and a side business at that.

I am curious about the upcoming promotion. Not only has the industry radically changed, Jon is just not getting the mainstream media support that was last evident on The Circle tour. It may not even be that important anymore as magazine and newspaper subscriptions dwindle but he is in the unusual position for him of having to fight for any exposure.

I am also curious about the cover art as the band is known for their bad covers. I think the WAN cover that Jon obviously had a lot of input on from the inception to incorporating technology was a big fail and I am sure it cost a lot of money.

If he thinks he is generating mystery by being silent, he is wrong.

They can't really release a single well in advance of an album because it may or --more likely-- may not get radio play for a month to garner interest in the album. They don't have that kind of radio/ single strength guaranteed anymore. We probably won't get a single until just before the album is released.j
