Just understand a few words. Thanks |
Quote:
These four walls have got a story to tell The door is off the hinges, there's no wish in the well Outside the sky is coal black, the streets are on fire The picture window is cracked and there's nowhere to run I know, I know This house is not for sale I set each stone and I hammered each nail This house is not for sale Where memories live and my dreams don't fail This house is not for sale Coming home I'm coming home This world is packing to the ground and I stake my claim Standing in the dirt where they'll dig my grave And I have built these walls, it's in my veins No time for looking back for hope is out the door This heart, this soul This house is not for sale I set each stone and I hammered each nail This house is not for sale Where memories live and my dreams don't fail This house is not for sale Coming home I'm coming home This house was built on trust That's what it is in all these words No wrecking ball can knock it down This house was built on higher ground I set each stone and I hammered each nail This house is not for sale Where memories live and my dreams don't fail This house is not for sale Coming home I'm coming home Coming home I'm coming home Coming home I'm coming home Coming home I'm coming home This house is not for sale |
Terribly sorry to jump on the PM bandwagon, but if anyone wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate it.:D

Its a perfect single for radio and its very catchy to the casual listener . Looking forward to the album now

The Band have got life in them still! ( not that I doubted that!)
I liking THINFS, could place it on a LH, HAND, TC. The Chorus is good, just wish Jon could sign a bit higher on song overall. But loving it especially with Jon's current voice, just imagine what this would have sounded like back when he's voice wasn't shot! That's not a dig, I think it would have sounded really great it does as now but can't helping thinking what if..... Roll on THINFS as an Album! :-) |
getting a 404 error with the link, anyone else?

Working link, full song. Oh, and I like it a lot. |
After 3 back to back listens -
Certainly a relative of HAND but that's a good thing. Vocally stronger than almost every track on WAN. I'm hoping the raspy delivery of the lines in the outro is a more prominant feature on other tracks on the album (and hopefully more prominant on the album mix of the title track), a welcome return for the rasp! My biggest problem with this song is the lyrics. As a song, melodically I really like it. But the lyrics are just so bad. I know we're not into the band for Jon's wordmanship but during the peak years, the lyrics were basic but much easier to forgive. Perhaps it's the subject matter he's writting about these days. I'm sure there are all sorts of meanings and analogies behind the lyrics, but singing about houses, nails, foundations...grates abit. Still, I like it, i'll probably have it on a steady rotation for the next few weeks and i'm very much looking forward to the album! |
So it's "Have A Nice Day" meets "Lost Highway" meets "We Weren't Born To Follow". Not too bad.
Familiar, halfway fresh... kinda what you can expect from them these days, so I'm positively surprised. And I'm not going to waste energy in complaining about stuff like lyrics, production, solo etc. It doesn't change the way this band works... and this song actually managed to put a smile on my face. I like it more than "Because We Can" and "Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning" combined upon first listen. |

Well instead of And I have built these walls, I hear I will build .... The guitar at the beginning and at the end of the solo remind me of HAND. Well I think they are not offering something new with this track. It's similar to other songs of them. |
