OMG - this has got to be one of the best replies ever.

Unfortunately, if you're like me and you read/listen/watch the press, then you KNOW what the songs are actually about so it ruins the "generic" message. So if you know that, for instance, "Happy Now" is specifically about Obama winning the election, then it's very much a political song, it's very direct and pointed and political. And when you know the stories behind several of the other songs, they're not so generic and dumbed down and you think, "If I wanted the 6:00 news, I'd turn on the TV."

I don't want Jon to dumb down enough to write Bad Name at 50+ either, but listen to a song like Fingerprints--very sexy and sensual and age appropriate. He couldn't have written that when he was 25 and it wouldn't have appealed to a 13 year old audience anyway. He should write along those lines.

Also, can I just say that I think that line about writing inspired by the newspaper really was a throw away line. I think people are reading WAY too much into it. I sure hope so, at least.

Fingerprints is the perfect example of him showing he can still write a song.

I get where you're coming from about the political songs. I guess because he's not mentioning specific parties or name dropping his beliefs I feel more okay with it. I'd almost rather he sing about who he's voting for directly then half-assing it with words that could be about anything (even if we all know who or what the pronouns are referencing). I don't dislike Happy Now for being too political, I'm not a huge fan because it doesn't go anywhere lyrically. I 100 percent see where you're coming from, maybe as someone who Obama's tax laws and decisions don't really affect it's a different scenario.

Yeah, nice Jon: where is 'House' and 'House of Cards':confused:

The title track is missing from that track listing - it's a real fist-in-the-air anthem about the syndication rights to House.

Where's the like button when we need it??? :D

About the album, I was just thinking...If it will be released really in march, by this time, they had to have already signed with a label, right? And if it was a big label, I think that we would have already know… It’s impossible keep an information like this in secret for so long.
What makes me think that they are planning to release this album in a independent way. My bet is that they’ll release online only, and go for tour.

I somehow have the feeling that Jon didn't do himself a favour by leaving Mercury and by leaving with such a big bang and that nobody wants to release a new Bon Jovi album with own money. Or at least not to Jon's conditions.

This site originally had the album listed with a release date in March:

Must be a placeholder.

I have a few guesses for Homeland:
1. It's, like a few have said here, another political song telling everyone to get off their collective asses and do something a la WWBTF

2. This is Our House v 2.0. (I drew this from Trevrox's sig)

or

3. Lost Highway v X raised to the 65643093837th power.

There is NO Homeland, read above.
