What would be more interesting is if there is a reunion, would Richie play these songs? Unlike Richie doing Blaze, these are Band songs that another guitarist wrote parts on... It would be interesting to see Richie's take... It would probably be in the contract that everything after WAN (maybe even everything after TC) is void... I doubt he'd learn Phil's parts or rewrite them... But that's years and years away

Ooh that's a good question. I don't think it will be a worry. With each passing tour we're getting less of the album cuts from the previous album. I don't think we'll get much from WAN next tour minus Because We Can, The Circle has been whittled down to Born to follow. He'd probably be forced to play the lead single if it's successful.

Alphavictim 03-10-2016 11:50 PM

Whether he liked it or not, he played Runaway live, too. So there's that.

Help me out here, please. I get the connection to Avatar Studios (aka The Power Station, right?) because I remember Jon said they were going back to the old studio. But how does Electric Lady Studios figure into clinching it for you? Is it just because Phil-X and Shanks were there at the same time? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Just curious...

Yeah. It's not a fool proof set in stone theory but John recording on the east coast makes me think it's Jovi related.

united17 03-11-2016 03:33 AM

This thread should be called What About Now?

I wonder what the result could be if Phil had some creative input in the new record without deviating too much from the band's sound?

Gotcha. I just wondered if I had missed a connection between the two studios or something. Thanks.

Shanks being on the east Coast and Phil being on the east coast in the same studio. And it's not unheard of to use different studios for tracking different things, not based on sound but availability. Let's say Phil finished his sessions and was available for this week but Avatar wasn't then they could take the session and do it and electric lady studio. I don't know about driving but the distance between the two is like a 25 minute walk. It's more hopeful than anything on our side, but I got a really good feeling that it's for Bon Jovi....

Nope.

But since that's the second time that you've insinuated as much, I'm curious about why you would think that's the case. So we won't derail the topic, feel free to PM me your response.

Nope... have NO desire to privately chat with you... I only chat with professional and knowledgeable fans...Anyway, it was just a general observation. We can move on... And bty, this topic has been derailed so many times now that I was actually going to suggest a separate one that just deals with the hard facts... It's not fair that the less frequent posters have to read through pages of nothing to conclude nothing about this new album...

Wildflowers solo was recorded by Bandiera (he confirmed it)

What Do You Got guitars were recorded by Phil X (he confirmed it in youtube interview)

And Runaway, These Arms Are Open All Night and some other box-set stuff weren't recorded by Richie and he hasn't any problem to play them.

So I don't think it will be any problem. Maybe he won't be comfortable to play "f**ck you Richie goodbye" song but we don't know that Jone did that one for new album :)

It's probably been mentioned already but I think during the Nashville runaway weekend thing all will be revealed;) . I guess Jon might play 1 new song from the new album hopefully too . Maybe an official single week or two after that . Hoping Phil x has some input on the record too !

It'll be a very short topic then. A discussion board is for discussion, if people don't want to read discussion on Bon Jovi, I'd suggest a Bon Jovi discussion board is not the best place for them to visit. It's not like theres thousands of pages, one minute people complain there's no-one posting, next there's apparently so much shit posted that it's a full time job to catch up. The OP could be updated to include all these facts if someone wishes to list them and I'll C&P them there.

Not the point. Wildflowers was thrown in TWICE on the tour from the album it was supporting.

What do you got was promoting the current single/album at the time. We're talking AFTER the fact. Both those songs were dropped the second they were able to.

The solo songs you have a bit of a point, but at the same time they weren't all recorded and released in a time period that Richie wasn't in the band. Big difference between a group of songs Richie at least heard of in advance versus songs from an album Richie came in after the fact. Time will tell I guess.

There was one time when it worked better hearing live first- I'm With You. Was really disappointed with the terrible robotic production on it after being impressed with the live version at the promo shows.

rolo_tomachi 03-11-2016 04:03 PM

Maybe Jon is hoping that impact has the new Guns N Roses tour?

Axl and Slash back with the whole team, if they make a loud noise and are successful, it could be upstaged the new Bon Jovi album, especially after the departure of Richie could have negative connotations his new tour.

Perhaps Jon's plan is delay for a while, and see what happens. I think is the reason that Matt warns that there will be no tour.

Phil X and Shanks would be justify the delay. Perhaps the album is finished and they only play to deception to believe that still working. The perfect excuse... to know what is the best option.

Bounce7800 03-11-2016 06:23 PM

Jon really doesn't see the band in the same vein as GnR these days (if indeed he ever did). It would have no impact on the release of the album, maybe tour dates, but they'd likely shift the album a week or two forward or back depending on other releases, but that's pretty standard practice across the board.

Faceman 03-11-2016 06:34 PM

You can't compare those two bands at all.
Rumpelstiltskin and Slash haven't shared a stage for more than 20 years and had more than one battle via tabloids.
Richie's departure from the band wasn't even 3 years ago and there was minimal impact on the media. A couple of days of some headlines and that's it.

I'm With You might be one of the most overrated songs here... It's just different and has that 90's vibe but the song itself is just okay... It's a simple vocal...

I'm just saying it can be. If both bands match the same time, needed marketing boost and headlines in magazines while Guns N Roses are united, Bon Jovi release an album and tour without Richie Sambora. That's a scenario a bit risky for Jon.

newikov 03-12-2016 11:59 AM

During the press conference in Moscow yesterday Phil X mentioned that he recorded with Jon few days ago in studio. He also said that maybe the Bon Jovi tour would start this fall. A Bon Jovi fan asks the question about the tour at 6:50.

?????-??????????? ? ???? Classic Rock All Stars ??????? Big Noize - YouTube

What I thought. Delays launch and tour until after the summer. They launch the album on same time that U2, now they are not under the same label, so the war begins. A war in which Jon will have the perfect excuse if he do not get good numbers, because he will say that U2 is a giant.

Bounce7800 03-12-2016 04:35 PM

Turn it in Rolo, first Jon is scared of GnR, then U2, he'll be shitting himself over The Cheeky Girls next at this rate. At best it would be prudent to avoid clashing tours, if not for the fact that its diminshing returns from the same type of fan but there's only so many stadiums or arenas available at any one time.

There's no rush and no great conspiracy as to why the album isn't out yet, just that people are pointing to the false March info. It's still on track for sometime this year with a tour to follow.

Yupppp. It's not delayed, it's just coming out later than a date that a site ran with so Rolo is finding excuses early of why it failed.

*shrugs* if he keeps changing his mind on what he wants the album to be I guess we'll see.

Are you implying they are waiting until Richie's album is out in order to compete with him?

KSantaFe 03-13-2016 01:13 AM

Rolo's antics aside, this is really great news in my opinion. And Captain Jovi's suspicions were proven true! I'm getting pretty excited for House now that Phil is onboard as a recording artist!

I have not suggested this.

My point is that if Richie launches his album at the same time, can coincide on promotion in Tv, Radio and magazines. This makes the album Richie has a better exposure.

One word. Feedback.

if richie wants to be solo he should release it indepedently and not go down that road.some of us we ll buy it anyway, he should avoid any pr trick like that.

That's a scenario I would try if I were Richie. It is not fair game, but we all know that if Richie launches an album next month, no one bought the album, his promotion will be greatly reduced.

Not think that Bon Jovi sales would suffer if both coincide, and it is possible that even with the media attention could attract new fans.

By the way, the Reunion song will be on the album?

In his last red carpet interview, Richie said next Spring.

In his last interview, Jon said the new BJ album would be released in April/May 2016.

In his last interview/press conference in Russia, PhilX said, "but it's rnr, it always changes."

Time will tell. As usual. :)

I do not understand what it says, can you make a summary of the moment? is this the question?

-What are the worst most crappy songs that still popular? or something like that?

-The guy replied the bon jovi songs, and Phil X laughs.
