There's no way we can use the facebook info as a sign he's an official member. Their online department isn't the best and I'm pretty sure the bonjovi.com STILL has the wrong lyrics up for WAN.

From what I've heard Phil's not on the entire album, he's just not going to be made an official member. Not this late in the game.

Bingo! He's definitely acknowledged just as Hugh has been acknowledged in Crush, Bounce ect when in the liner notes it just says "jbj, richie, tico, david, Hugh under "band". But this blurs the line more than the Hugh thing because let's face it, rocknation is right about a rock band needing a guitar players presence to be felt, even on the promotional stuff that never included hugh....

We can't take as facts the info the social media provide, but we can be sure that Phil is here to stay! Personally, I like this scenario, he is great for this position.

Holy crap, you're right -- I was so busy being pleased to see Phil's name there, I didn't notice that Hugh's name wasn't! There's no point in welcoming Phil to the family if they're going to keep treating Hugh like the proverbial red-headed stepchild -- duh, guys!

The cynic in me wonders if putting Phil's name there is a much much MUCH bigger draw for them. Phil has a pretty big online fan base, it doesn't look anything but great for the band that Phil X is playing for them if they're looking to attract a rockier audience.

Holy shit, maybe he actually got to play lead guitar on the new album. That would be pretty sweet.

Better if he writes his own guitar parts too, and not Shanks.

He did. It's confirmed. How much of the album, that remains to be seen because a large part of it was already recorded last year if Jon's interviews are to be believed

I think the best time to hear any new information is in a couple of weeks when Jon performs the Runaway Tour show in NYC. I think he will give more info, and u know in the Q&A fans will be asking.;)

You're not being cynical, you're being strategic and pragmatic. There will not be a viable post-Sambora era for Bon Jovi if the fans don't embrace Phil wholeheartedly -- which means that Bon Jovi needs to "sell" him (and finally acknowledge Hugh, or they'll look like cynics) wholeheartedly.

Ok there are lots of changes in the ASCAP and brand new Bon Jovi titles. I check the database every day. Yesterday they weren't there.

Ascap also has "SAD SONG TONIGHT" listed as well as Sad Song Night. I don't recall ever seeing "SAD SONG TONIGHT" listed previously, does anyone remember seeing that? I know Jon used SSN for D.A, then again for Bounce. I wonder if there's a third song added.

Just read the band is also doing the music "or maybe just a song or songs" for an upcoming netflix movie. So some of those songs may be getting registered now....

Ok I guess Sad Song Night = Sad Song Tonight ... ASCAP is just confusing sometimes.

Is this ASCAP site really reliable? Cause I was looking on it, and there's some things really weird. For example, there's a song on Jon Bon Jovi lists called "Ainda tenho esperança". This is in portuguese. And it's the translation of (I suppose) "A little faith", that is listed above it. It's very weird and doesn't look to much reliable for me...

It's absolutely reliable. Everything gets registered there somehow. One week before WAN got released we knew half of the titles.

For the portuguese title ..
It means there is a song "A little faith" but in Portuguese language sang by some Portuguese speaking musician. There are titles in Chinese, Spanish and Catalan .. i found many of them. Do you want some BJ song in Chinese? I can find if you want

For example,

"JO VOLDRIA QUE TOT L'ANY POS COM NADAL" is registered in ASCAP .. in Catalan it means "i wish everyday was like christmas"

For the titles in Spanish btw .. There is also a new one "DESCONOCIDO" .. wondering what it is. Some old song sang by some Spanish speaking musician or maybe a new song by Bon Jovi but in Spanish. Who knows :)

Right, there's two different Sad Song Nights, one from Destination Anywhere sessions and one from the Bounce sessions, the Bounce one has never come out.

Hmm a few days ago Sad Song Tonight wasn't showing me the co-writers, now it is. I guess it was just re-titled? I could swear it was never called that on ASCAP.

I have an old version of Bon Jovi repertoire in csv .. downloaded from ASCAP maybe three months ago. "Sad Song Tonight" is not there. You're right.

This band really is fond of the term "calm before the storm".
