EDIT: Still sounds the same. I hope thats just compressed audio.

Can anyone tell what the lyric is?

"Where memories live and the drain don't fail" are what it sounds like to me!

Dreams. :p (I think?)

This is what I heard from the 30 second clip (corrections welcome):

Outside the sky is coal black, the streets are on fire
The picture window is cracked and there's nowhere to run
I know, I know
This house is not for sale

I set each stone and I hammered each nail
This house is not for sale
Where memories live and my dreams don't fail
This house is not for sale

I'm hoping that once we get this is a decent quality, the production will sound better... Keep in mind, this is how songs sound today. I heard that song 'Rock Star" by Pink on the radio yesterday and all those shitty production styles are in that song too (and that was a few years ago)... I just think Shanks goes a little over the top but I also believe Jon tells him to... That is what John has to do to keep Jon sounding decent as a studio artist.

Someone brought up a good point which I mentioned before too. It's the production that is making all the songs sound the same... But to the average radio listener, they won't know that anyway because they are not as involved as we are.

At the end of the day, I'm happy to still have Bon Jovi music in 2016. It's not horrible by any means and most of it is still enjoyable. I could reflect back on the past few albums, pick out songs I truly enjoy, and put together my own mix of music... Bon Jovi has changed but times have changed too including the way we listen to music... It's not easy for an artist to keep it going after 35 years and I give Jon credit for hanging in there...

With every album and tour, people keep saying that they need to hang it up but when I reflect back on my life during the Circle Album / Tour, I wouldn't take back any of it.. There were some really great moments. I could say the same about WAN, and I'm still digging Burning Bridges...

I hate all this "teasers for teasers" stuff that the media spouts now.
It's bad enough when films have a teaser trailer for the teaser trailer (see Star Wars as prime example), but now we have bands doing it.
Yesterday was the teaser for today's teaser, which is just a teaser for the upcoming album...

I want the song, the whole song, and nothing but the song!

Where is the 30 seconds clip available?

There was a time when we didn't have teasers, we had... leaks! ;)

So, if the album is released in October. They decide to come over to the UK and do some promotion for the new Bon Jovi album, at the same time Richie is on tour with Bad Company........... AWKWARD maybe...........:eek:

There definitely appears to be a quiet start and a break before the last chorus.

This is what I got from Phil X Fan Club (which claims to be "official"):

Phil X is not playing in the song, only appears in the video!

You are totally right. It's a big mistake to put several fragments of 10 or 30 seconds a few days before. It is also a mistake to put the video on the same day they debut the song. They should have released the song at least a couple of days before, and then release the video. So you do not link the images of the video every time you hear the new song, because the first time you heard, could created your own image.

I had a thought on my way to work this morning about this, some post saying "only four people in the water reflection" and no official guitar player.

What if... [emoji56]
The video ending showing the band and voila, there's.. Richie.

Then I thought "why would he, without any contribution to the album".
One could dream I guess [emoji41]

It was Alec all along!

golittleperson 08-10-2016 06:25 PM

Right at the end of the 30 second snip - it sounds like the harmony begins and I hear what sounds like the intro to We Don't Run. Very familiar? Now I really want to hear the full song...

Wrong. Up until 1994 it was Hugh with a Alec mask :D

IML88 08-10-2016 06:30 PM

There is a little bit of "This Is Love, This Is Life" about the full chorus. Sans the effects and talkbox. Possibly the chords and general guitar tone.

rocknation 08-10-2016 07:02 PM

How predictably -- predictable.

However, like WAN, it IS a "we gotta get something on the radio" song...

Thought of this too. My guess is that they ate trying to build up momentum to on the day of release be a 'trending' topic with the song on social media. This is exactly the reason why movie studios do that so I'm guessing record companies are taking their example and applying it with their artists.....

I absolutely disagree that they're messing this up. People complained when they waited weeks until after Because We Can was released to put out a video. This is the other end of the spectrum, having it ready to go. Get mad at them for following the usual formula, get mad at them from altering the promo to learn from their mistakes. Which is it?

Wait a minute....

Phil X appears to be an oficial member in the pics.
But Mr X only play in 4 songs from the new album.
In the new single he does not play the guitar.
But he is in the video.

Why? He's the fill (Phil?) in guy for live and some studio? What about that is hard to get?

Tom_K 08-10-2016 07:42 PM

Can someone explain why the album will only be available months after the single is released? I don't know how the music business works but wouldn't it make sense to have the album available right away to sell more copies?

Are singles still released as CDs? Can we hope for any B-sides?

Yeah, I agree. People might bitch about not getting the song straight away, but this time around, there's actually some sense of building excitement, using social media, teasing stuff. It's easily the best the band have ever used the internet to drum up promotion (BJTV was great for its time, but the scope of social media is much bigger now.)

Snippet's sounding good, but the whole patchwork affair of not having a set band is already annoying.

That's nothing. When he played with Aldo Nova in the 90's he didn't play a not on the Blood on the Bricks album, yet was featured on the album sleeve as an official member of Aldo's band. Stuff like this happens yet it's such a big deal here, people really need to modify their ways of thought....

It's the old school business model of releasing a single to get promo going, and hopefully the song becomes a hit, and then the album generally a few months later. The model has changed so much and the songs rarely make any impact on radio, I'm surprised they're not just going boom, single, a month later, boom, album. Unless they're planning on doing the promo they didn't really do for WAN it seems a waste of time.

B-sides I dont think we'll get. Bonus tracks for other territories and exclusives for certain places I think so.

He co-wrote all of the songs on the album but one and produced the record. Might have even sang some backup vocals.
