My point is that just the fact that a song is used as a title track or thought of to be the title track says nothing about its quality. Over the years we got some pretty good ones and some pretty bad ones. If Sex Sells was such a good one and Jon knew it so that he wanted to call the album after it why didn't appear it on the record? Why didn't we even get it as a b-side? My theory: Jon wanted to call the album Sex Sells and wrote a song with the same title. He wasn't satisfied with the result and stopped the whole idea. |
If were were getting another 4 disc Box Set then sure, load it up with better quality tracks of songs like Nothing, Shadow Dancing, Good Ain't Good Enough, Etc...
But based on the current info we have, we are getting an 8 track ep... Not demos but mastered tracks... I kinda see this project as similar to Michael Jackson's latest album XSCAPE (only Jon being alive). They grabbed 8 tracks that were previously recorded and had a producer come in to remix / remaster them. That's kinda how I'm envisioning this project. Who knows, they could go far back and pull an old song out of the vault. With Richie now gone, maybe Sex Sells would be the go to area. |

Facts so far:
New album composed with outtakes from the very last releases. There's no brand new material for 21 August (maybe for us ). There's going to be a brand new album on next April-May. This thought-out strategy has much to do with Richie's departure. What we still don't know: 8 or 15 songs, 1 or 2 discs ... |
