According to my intuition (which you should rely on ;)):
Teardrop is the key track on Burning Bridges. Yes, this is a new one. The depressive tone of a loser isn't coming out of nowhere, think about it. Misery has always been the best inspiration for artistic work. But the optimist that he is, he wants to close this book as fast as he can. "Burning Bridges", no big talking. I have come to the conclusion, only by the lyrics from Teardrop, that this album is in no way affiliated with Richie Sambora.

Haven't even heard Teardrop yet.

Blind Love has some interesting and sad lines ("bed cold as January"). It's a dangerous downer song if the situation fits. I remember the way Hard letting you go hit or should I say touched/solaced me once.

Sorry, Summer, but my intuition says that your intuition is off the mark. ;)

Most of Burning Bridges is the album that was supposed to be between TC and WAN. I think Jon had a few directions to take outside the band and never quite got there. WDR and Teardrop are leftovers from the 2016 album.

While all of that is based on probably theory, what are you basing Teardrop being a brand new song off of? Was something said?

Good question! I'm basing it all on the production and Jon's vocal... Even if it was written prior, I'll still classify it as new. Diamond Ring was new in '95 because that was the final production.

Jon states WDR was new and Teardrop fits right in with that. The leadoff songs on an album should also have some relevance to them as well.

Understanding the band, knowing their sound, knowing their directions, knowing their lead singer, knowing their guitar player, and knowing their producer is all part of it.

But end of the day it's theory. They all could have been written prior and could all be classified as new. Meh, I just think you sound way too sure of something and it's dangerous to convince everyone when we don't really know.

Tomorrow he could come right out and say it's new and then great. I see it as part of the solo songs that would have come between the albums, it's got such a non-band vibe to me.

100% of my theory is speculation. Jon never admitted to the fact that these were leftovers from an attempted solo album either.

Unfortunately, this album is being kept under hush for some odd reason and it's our job to figure it all out collectively.

How much times has to go by for a song to be considered 'new'? Some bands take years to work on songs so if Jon wrote some songs in '13 and are now being completed two years later, why aren't they 'new' anymore? Or are they?

BTY, I was NEVER specific to the writing. I was saying the song was a possible attempt to be included on the 2016 release.

I like the idea of a "collective brain".

And the only way to figure it out is with actual information confirmed by a source. "100% of my theory is speculation. Jon never admitted to the fact that these were leftovers from an attempted solo album either." I agree, which is why I'm not saying "These are songs from a proposed solo album" I'm saying I wouldn't be shocked to learn that.

I'm not trying to harass you for the way you worded it, you just made it sound like Tears is 100 percent a new song alongside We Don't Run and I was merely following up to see if you had heard anything to know that.
