This Who you would die for can be the best of Jovi in the decade. A lot of potential!!! |

I like the sound of some/most. None are spectacular or anything but decent enough and it sounds like an album I'll enjoy a lot more than 'What About Now.' What I really love so far is how aggressive and raw Jon sounds in some songs. He nails that sound and should do it more often as I'd much sooner listen to him hit notes like that than I would him try and hit notes doing a nasally voice. 'Who Would You Die For' has really good vocals and I think I'll enjoy that much more than I thought. The 30 sec snippet I wasn't a fan of because of the way 'Who Would You Die For' lyrics are sung but Jon picks it up. 'Burning Bridges' kind of reminds me of 'I Love This Town.' Not in sound, but the fact it ends the album in a pub/bar type of song. I quite like the sound of it. Be perfect in an Irish Bar! Looking forward to hearing the whole album in full now. Not going to listen to the snippets anymore. Will give 'I'm Your Man' a download tonight, a listen and then leave it at that. |
Who would you die for
We all fall down Life is beautiful All good songs. Not great but good. They do lack that something though. Who Would you Die for is my favourite from the above songs. Burning Bridges is awful. Left over from Lost Highway must be. Its so shit its unreal. Im gutted cos the song and album title is brilliant. But the song? Pure tripe. Fingerprint – this sounds like its a JBJ solo album penned track. Its not Jovi sounding at all. For that reason I probably will never get into it So far BB and Fingerprints will not be making the ipod. |
Certainly seems we'll get the best vocal work on a Bon Jovi album in years. Teardrop, We Don't Run, I'm Your Man and Who Would You Die For, all have strong vocals, the latter in particular, a welcome return of rasp.
I've said it before, Jon's raspy/gritty vocal really is one of the best in rock. Such a shame he's lost it. Never got enough credit in my opinion. Very distinguishable and full of emotion at times. Who Would You Die for is really bugging me, sounds very familiar. Not sure its one song though, feels like there is a mix match of a few songs in there. Based on the iTunes sample, this could be the song of the album for me. |

Maybe I’m overreacting, but I can feel a little bit of “these days mod” in the who you would die for. Man, this can be a very great song. I’m completely surprised.

Anyone figure out the lyrics to Burning Bridges?
Something about 30 years of loyalty, now you dig your grave? Something about publishing rights and why I wrote this song? |
...lived a couple lives
Here's our history For all to see The smiles and all the scars First, the rise, then the fall Then call this chapter "Shooting Stars" Must sound good From where you are Sayonara, adios (I'll be?) this ain't farewell At (do?) good night good (nabbing?) Here's one last song you can sell! Let's call it "Burning Bridges" It's a singalong as well (can't decipher anything) Playing for your friends in hell Our trip to (Fox's?) (A marquee's date, yeah?) There's nothing more to say After 30 years of loyalty They let you dig the grave Now maybe you could learn to sing Or you can stroll along But I'll give you half the publishing Your (while?) wrote this song Everybody, sing along! Sayonara, adios (I'll be?) this ain't farewell At (do?) good night good (nabbing?) Here's one last song you can sell! Let's call it "Burning Bridges" It's a singalong as well Put my money in my m... |

They should just give us everything at this point for crying out loud. BB is only a 2:44 minute song and we now have 1:30 of it... |
