Say It Isn't So remix?
 

I'm just cleaning out an old pile of audio tapes and stumbled across one that contains a different mix of Say It Isn't So. It sounds as if the mix was done to be some kind of dance version (though it doesn't alternate too much from the original one). Does anyone know where this might stem from? Were alternate mixes released on the single back then?

The U.K. issue of Crush had the U.K. mix of Say It Isn't So on it, as had one of the 2 singles (Catalogue number 562 897-2) . I think that's the one you're talking about. If I remember correctly the song is just as long as the original (3:33?).

Yeah, was the UK mix on the UK CD Singles. God knows why they thought we needed that mix, probably to get it played on the pop stations like Capital after It's My Life, but was a strange one.

However, the Dave Bascombe remix of It's My Life was a very good decision for radio.

I can remember driving into work the first time I heard this version on the radio, i realised right away that something didn't sound quite right. If I remember right, they replaced the bulk of the instruments with cheesy pop musak. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but it was terrible.
