US East Coast weather

Hi, just wanted to wish our east coast Jovi pals warmth and keep safe during the storms. They look awful on tv and I hope you are all coping ok xxxxx

Old Joysey 01-24-2016 03:29 PM

Hope everybody's alright. :)

Our weather is so crazy that it was about 70 degrees Thursday with thunderstorms/hail/ tornadoes, which could only mean that by Friday morning we had snow and ice, particularly hard hit in the northern part of the state.

rocknation 01-25-2016 12:06 AM

It didn't get too windy, thankfully. Never lost electricity though my DSL Internet has been cutting in and out since Friday evening. How am I supposed to complain about New Jersey's governor refusing to suspend his presidential campaign, never mind watch football, if I can't stay online long enough?

Walleris 01-25-2016 06:11 PM

It's alright, it's alright, it's alright, who says you can't go home!

Old Joysey 01-26-2016 04:22 AM

Come rain or shine or snow, he's always there! (in Times Square)

Really no problems at all where I live. It snows here every year - we are used to it. NYC doesn't usually get as much snow as they did.

The worst that happened to me was getting my Bruce show cancelled at MSG on Sunday night :( Fortunately for all us diehards there is another show tomorrow night so we won't have to go cold turkey :D

Glad you are all doing ok .

Thankfully here on east coast of UK for 2nd year in a row we haven't had any snow so far. Hope it stays that way.

Recall you posting pics up of your place in the snow Kathleen, it looked beautiful.

Yep! Bruuuce was a no-show for once, he was stuck in sunny Florida
https://www.uset.org/viewarticle.php?id=781
so Nils and his wife made a snowman in Central Park to kill time until the next show.

and Tian Tian keeps making a fool of himself, rolling in the deep snow! (can't post the vids):

Well I hope that Nils' hands have thawed out from building that mammoth snowman. He needs both his hands tonight for a great show :D

Things I HATE about Winter:

1. Coughing, Sneezing, and Blowing My Nose for 4 Months
2. Migraines
3. Bringing the outside animals inside at night and when it's really cold during the day
4. Worrying about the stubborn cats that refuse to come inside
5. Having to use hand lotion, face lotion, and body lotion
6. Working with germie children
7. Freezing to death in my office
8. Having to get up in the morning and go to work when it's so cold
9. Stabbing pain in my hands and fingers from the cold when I'm driving in the mornings (Raynard's Syndrome)
10. Aching all over when the weather changes
11. Tornadoes that come when it's 65 degrees one day and 20 degrees the next
12. Hail storms
13. Having to make up snow days
14. Losing power when there's ice/snow
15. It's dark by 5:00
16. Asthma acts up

Are you sure you can't come up with more negative things? Almost makes me depressed reading all this.

Becky 02-02-2016 09:41 PM

Oh, I could EASILY come up with more. I just stopped there.

"Oh the weather outside is frightful...." and that's where the song ends. Our schools are closing early today because of the threat of hail, tornadoes, and straight line winds. Other kids get out of school because of snow. Our kids get out of school because of this crap.

I was in NYC in February 2010 for a week. Weird week. 65F at the start of the week, lovely sunshine. 2 feet of snow by the end. The city is magical in snow and everyone just carries on.

Britain goes into meltdown even in the slightest flurry. Sounds like everyone across the pond coped well.
