Lately I was listening to Jon's Destination Anywhere album a lot. I always liked this record and still think that it's one of Jon's finest songwriting.
It's too bad that he never brought those songs back in a live set (besides his 2009 fanclub gig and I think he did DA during a Runaway tour show in 2014(?)).
Those Christmas shows they did in Redbank, NJ from 1990 - 1996 were always quite special. So to start a little discussion we will never ever get a real answer to - but out of curiosity what you think:
If the Christmas shows didn't stop after 1996, would Bon Jovi ever have played songs from Destination Anywhere on tour, like they did with Blaze Of Glory or Blood Money??
I think yes.
I know the album tanked in the US. But Jon seemed to be very proud of his album and did a whole lot of promo. I would imagine that during their Redbank shows in 1997 - 1999 we might have gotten songs like Midnight In Chelsea or Everyword Was A Piece Of My Heart. And once they played it there maybe brought them out on the road as an audible for the Crush tour.
So what are your thoughts?
