I'm not disagreeing with people that it's stupid it's a fan club for him alone but complaining about something that's been in place for 20 years, meh, ya know? Supply and demand. They charge, people pay so in a sick, dirty way it's worth it's value. It's fleecing based on what they're getting but they're also happy so I don't know.

Matt that is correct and it was Jon's mama who wrote in a fanzine letter (way back when those were sent out and she was running the fan club) that she tried as best she could to get the other mothers to get content from Richie, Dave and Tico but she didn't have the same access as she did to her son so she felt it was disingenuous to make the name Backstage with Bon Jovi. Before that it (in the 80's) was Secret Society which was run by an outside organization. Yes I'm old lol!

Ok that makes more sense.

I see the same people on twitter buying something they have no idea.

So many think its gonna be music...its not.

Richie is definitely another story, with the co-writing aspect and the soured relationship between the camps.

You're right it was probably Hugh. I was just theorising. Didn't Alec play on the fist two records though? I thought it was SWW when Hugh was brough into the studio?

Re: The Box set would have been stuff that was already owned by the label, same thing with New Jersey deluxe.

Jon said in a fan club show, that after the new album there would be a box set, was he referring to all this of The JBJ Experience?

Hugh played on the debut but not on 7800°. Although I guess he might have just been on Runaway? Not sure if he played on the entire album.

Although We Rule The Night, which sounds like it's from 7800° for sure, was on the boxset without any problems.

Alec only played on the second album.

Jon will never realease anything recorded in a session in Richie's basement. Let's be realistic here. If he ever releases unheard songs again, it would be "finished" songs regardeless if it's owned by label or by him.

You also mentioned Richie's publishing rights, but he already sold them.

Yeah but I don't think Alec had writing credits on it and, as discussed on different occasions before, some parts of songs were obviously re-recorded for the Box Set release. So it wouldn't have been too hard to have Hugh play the bass line there. Especially since it was the only pre-Slippery song on there.

If I recall correctly, the bassline on We Rule The Night is pretty simple, bare bones and a drum machine.

And I REALLY don't think they're manipulating people into thinking they're getting unreleased music in this and pulling wool. I wouldn't be shocked if that rumor came from HERE. We're all very good and reading into something the wrong direction, it snowballing to the fanbase and then being disappointed when it's not what it never was going to be if that makes sense?

To get back to this:
This is from Volume 3 Issue 2 - still under the name Backstage with Bon Jovi. I don't know the exact date, but Volume 3 Issue 1 says Winter 1991. In Issue 2, where the letter below belongs to, Jon and David say thanks to all the birthday wishes. So it has to be spring/maybe summer 1992.

The following letter is from Volume 3 Issue 3 - under the name Backstage with Jon Bon Jovi. In that issue Richie says thank you for his birthday wishes, so I guess it's from fall 1992.
