I really liked the article. Jon seems quite reflective and yes. I am sure he is quite complex (people usually are). That is why I think it is wasted time that he often 'sells himself' the way he does. While I think his constant need to work is not healthy I hope his mental health is stable. The fact that his dad and other people beat him is something that was probaby quite common back then :-/.
On a side note: I would still love to meet him and would like to have a conversation with him. I am sure that he has interesting stories to tell
