Do you mean:
music about politics,
music about Foundation,
music boring?

It is not just about the topic it is how it is delivered and how much sustance is behind it. My favorite German band just released a song about the refugee crisis last year and it is pure story telling + it hits the nail on its head without even mentioning the current situation by name but using an analogy from the time the Berlin wall fell. It isn't that much of a transfer effort but it is a smart and heartfelt song. And the lyrics are interlligent. But to compare them to BJ is like comparing Bowie to Nickelback

faith1985, just because I don’t view things the same as you does not mean I in a bubble. Are you kidding me? I would love to have a bubble! A bubble is my lifelong dream.

I don’t feel compelled to be excessively negative about things I cannot change or influence. Nor do I feel compelled to navigate a quagmire of other people’s negativity. Every once in a while I try to posit that there is a different way to look at things and, inevitably, am dismissed like you have done.

Oh please, I don't expect everyone to share my opinion. But not once have I heard you say anything negative about Jon and when I point out the things he said that are clearly far from having the best intentions for other people (apart from his friends, maye) you ignore it.

I am negative because with all the bland positivity everything Jon does I have to balance it out for myself. But yes, to stay away from it would do me some good.

Yeah, no shit. I'd say you're well on your way though considering your everlasting divorce from society. It's like you just don't understand the complexity of individuals and it's a bit sad to see how you keep having the same opinion of a person who's grown so much into someone else the last 20 years and who has so little in common with the person you initially started idolizing in the first place. You very much live in a bubble already.

Now as for Jon being succesful at several things at once; once the business side took over the band stopped making music. He looks miserable when he's on stage. He looks miserable in interviews, his band fell apart, no one cares for his music anymore, he performs most shows on autopilot and the stuff people do care for he can no longer sing.

Sure, there's still loads of people going to see him but he knows they're not there to hear him sing the songs he'd love to write and perform and it shows as he's throwing around fake smiles just so people will believe he's happy at what he does. I'd love to be able to do what he's doing, but as for being succesful? It's cleary not working for him anymore.

Succes is relative.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
